Not your Ordinary Gelato

Christmas is the time to be chubby errr I mean to be jolly. Filipinos always have the best way to celebrate Christmas. With or without enough money, the important thing is to celebrate the birth of Jesus with our dearest families. Christmas is MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES.

What else to do on Christmas but to shop and eat, right? We're on our way from Glorietta when we passed by this newly opened store. The new gelato shop has elegant white background, creative fixtures and furnitures that easily catches our attention plus we are craving for desserts so we opt to try it.

There a lot of gelato stores, all of them are delizioso and offers varieties of flavors but what makes Bono Artisanal Gelato stand out? I heard that the makers of Bono gelato went to Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna to learn how to make real gelato. Their gelato is made in few batches and also made fresh daily with only the finest ingredients like California strawberries and Philippines mango and coffee beans.

I don't know about other gelato stores but Bono uses Pozzetto cabinets to ensure the least amount of air & light contamination to preserve a constant temperature. I asked the saleslady why it melts easily and she said that because their gelato has no mixes, pastes, gels, flavorings, artificial colorings or preservatives.

The saleslady offered me a spoonful of their best sellers, Mad about Malt then another spoonful of Speculoos, they are both mouth watering but i chose to order Speculoos first.

My first is a cup of Speculoos gelato, made of Belgian Cookie Butter, Oh Em! it's so smooth and has a creamy texture. Remember Haagen Dazs’ Caramel Biscuit and Cream? For me, the flavor is close to it but way better than Haagen Daz's. Sorry Haagen Daz's fans.
