Aww, look at 'em.
Today as part of the lecture in class today, we learned about the Bonobo Monkey, formerly known as the Pygmy Chimpanzee. They are found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Interesting Fact
Apparently, reproduction is not the only reason for sex for these animals. They are pretty much obsessed with sex, and use it for almost anything and everything. They use it for greeting, celebrations, and even resolving conflicts! But they are known to be very friendly and loving animals towards each other and humans. “It has been said that they are the only non-human animal to have been observed engaging in face-to-face genital sex, tongue kissing, and oral sex, with same sex partnerships too.” Their actions are almost similar to humans, it’s scary. Even despite all the frequent engagement in sexual activities, unfortunately, they are close to being extinct.
