He's about to pull away and grab this asshole when a lite, feminine voice frantically says, "Be good, be good, I'm sorry, she has my sister, I'm sorry."

Oh, fuck. There are more people involved, and this woman probably isn't the killer to begin with. He could take her into custody and question her and maybe they'd find out the truth.

But if he does that, her sister could die.

He holds his breath, letting his body got slack and falling into her long before the chloroform takes effect. He's obviously not going to let her kill him, but he's hoping that she'll bring him to the killer instead.
