Digitizing books can be hard sometimes.

I love Internet Archive/Open Library and all they do, but they have got to find a better way to digitize all these books other than just scanning images of the pages. I caved and downloaded the out of date English translation of Rhetorica Ad Herennium that still attributes it to Cicero because apparently that's the only digital english copy in existence, but the epub I initially downloaded it as had a ten percent confidence in transcribing the word images to text and it definitely reflected that tiny percentage, and the PDF I downloaded, even the simplified black and white version, is just a series images that barely fit on my ereader and the text can't be customized or embiggened and there are no chapter breaks, making for an aggravating and eye-squinting read.

I haven't thought to test it out but like how does their text-to-speech function even work if it's just photos of the words?
