last piece of my haul, the fine fragrance mists! i love all three, and I'm glad to find glazed pumpkin isn't a repackage of one i already have. i need to smell one of my minis from quite a few years ago that is almost gone as i'm wondering if it is the same scent!
This is what happens when I’m left unsupervised at The Book Loft 🫣🫣🫣
OHIO -- THE Book Loft of German Village
My trip to The Book Loft in historic German Vilage of Ohio was nothing short of magical. I moved slowly through each of their 32 rooms, each packed with shelves of books, and had to hold my jaw so that it didn't fall to the floor. Every room is its own complete experience, including a soundscape to match the subject matter of the books housed within. This was particularly striking in the nature annd gardening room, where I was transported to a garden full of chirping birds and chirping insects whille I thumbed through books on flowers and animals. Moving through the different mazelike rooms, I was greeted by new and enticing sights and sounds around every turn. There were displays and puzzles and CD's all around the store, which are sure to catch the interest of those who do not identify as quite so hard-core bookworms as yours truly. For bookworms and book cover lovers alike, the Book Loft also has a gorgeous, ceiling-high display of Out of Print shirts, scarves and gloves. These are perfect for those who want to show their love for their favorite books on their sleeves (or necks, or feet!)
The booksellers are genuinely kind and extraordinarily helpful. One bookseller was kind enough to tell me why The Book Loft is the best bookstore in Ohio, and why he loves working at this labyrinthine store.
"I'm always finding something new here," he says. "People are always bringing things to the counter that look really cool, and I'm like 'where did you FIND THAT?' I'm constantly finding new and interesting things that I haven't seen before, which is what makes this job really exciting."
If you live in Ohio or are considering visiting, I highly suggest stopping by The Book Loft for its breathtaking selection and knowledgeable employees.
Columbus Downtown!
April 20, 2014 – First full day in Ohio of the trip. I lost most of my Saturday traveling, so we decided to plan the next two days. Sunday was Columbus day; Monday would be shopping day with Mom.
And of course, what is a good trip without further complications? We thought this time I would finally get to see the Thurber House, and Dad confirmed online it was open. The view outside was promising;…

Okay, so I am basically a huge Barnes & Noble fan, BUT I recently discovered a bookstore that has THIRTY-TWO rooms full of books and it also has outside spots.
I feel extremely guilty. It feels like I am abandoning Barnes & Noble, especially because I got a membership and all (Stupid reason, I know.) This should not be a problem for me. I know I can go to both, but it's just not the same. I am torn between bookstores. What a delightful problem to be stressed about.
