That sounds like Dearborn has hyperesthesia. It's nothing serious, it just means the spine is extra sensitive, and often the fur will kind of rouse and settle like the feathers of a grumpy bird when you touch it.
I was wondering, but all the websites I found about it say that sometimes the cat gets twitches and will attack their own tail, or jump around like someone else is, and it’s really only when I pet her. But either way I’m just being very careful. She likes cheek rubs and belly rubs best anyway.
