I tried this a couple of different ways, but this came out best. :)

Water for Elephants AU. Connor is the star of the circus, while Markus is the runaway student vet grieving the loss of his father and brother.

Enders Game AU?
Do... Do I dare? Maybe a Red Wedding (GOT) AU where Connor is murdered for breaking his oath and marrying a foreigner, who is Markus. Considering Markus dies first, Connor would be holding him in his arms as Hank pleads with their host to prevent Connor from dying. Of course, they all get killed. There’s also a scene in the books/show after that part where the Freys’ had apparently replaced Robb’s head with his Direwolf’s head and paraded his body around. So maybe include that? Idk.
I know this isn’t nearly as specific as the request - I really did try, but the perfect images for this eluded me, so this was as good as I could do. Hope it’s still okay. :)
