Important Lesson That Harry Potter Teaches Us
Giving up Prejudices –
If you have ever been exposed to the Harry Potter series, chances are that you have encountered the term ‘Mudblood’. This was a slang that was used to call out magicians that did not belong to magical heritage. Time and again, in the series, it has been re-emphasised that calling out names as an act of discrimination is one of the most heinous things one can do.
We can see this resemblance in today’s society, where people are often discriminated on the basis of their race, religion, gender, skin colour, etc. People hold preconceived notions and biases about people from other categories of the society, which sometimes even leads to riots and attacks. As the Harry Potter books indicate not so subtly, this practice needs to be stopped, and people from all sections regardless of their heritage need to be respected equally.
