Tuesday's Shot of Bourbon Trivia

Back in the spring, Jim Beam released a special 25th anniversary edition of its Booker's bourbon, which was named, of course, for colorful former master distiller Booker Noe. Booker passed away in 2004, but his legend lives on through his son, current master distiller Fred Noe, who often references his father's many quips. Jim Beam compiled 25 of these "Bookerisms" and included one in each special anniversary box.

Up until this point I had to take their word for it, because these things sold out in about five minutes and I didn't score even one. But recently I came across an interview with the designer of the package that lists them all. Some of my favorites:

No. 1: "I know bourbon gets better with age, because the older I get, the more I like it."

No. 9: "It takes me years to make our whiskey. Fortunately, it doesn't take me that long to drink it."

No. 19: "Aged 6-8 years when it is at the peak of its flavor. Plus, that's all the longer I can wait."
