go nominate your favourite books for the backlist book awards!
Wow!!
I just found out that I have been nominated for Bec’s Booklr Awards in the booktube category - there are seriously so many amazing nominees and just seeing my name next to people like: books-and-cookies, polandbananas20, thesashalsberg, katokeeffe and everyone else is just amazing. So, a quick but very heartfelt thank you to anyone and everyone who nominated me for me.
You can check out the nominees and vote here. You are in no way obligated to vote for me!
Hey Booklrs!
You’ve all voted in the first round of Booklr’s Best Books of 2015 (thank you!) and now it’s time to narrow down that list! Below are the books that received the most votes in the first round and in order to get to the best books of 2015 in each category, we need you to vote again!
Which Fantasy, Contemporary, and Romance book published in 2015 do you think deserves the title of “Best Book of 2015″? If you want your picks to win, remember to vote!
Let us know by voting below in the poll!
In order to see the poll, you do need to visit our blogs ( @bookgeekconfessions is the original creator and will have the poll on her blog as well), or you can simply go to the link here.
Happy reading & voting!
P.S. Remember to reblog and share so a lot of people can vote!
Booklr Awards.
So. If anyone has being paying attention to the Hugo awards there is an bunch of misgonistic jerks ruining it. And it sucks, Because so few books of any value, or meaning ended up on those lists and its heart breaking. And during a sleepless night due to medications I realized I run a booklr, which celebrates books and looks at celebrating books with diversity and understanding. And. I can also do awards. Not fancy award obviously but maybe if the Booklr community is interested we can have a democracy of Booklr Awards for great books of all types, for all things, and things that are super important to us, the readers. Having categories that likely stem past just "Best Novel" or "Best New Writer" and such but maybe also getting down to ones that are important for diversity, for groups of people, the gritty books. We could have fantasy, new adult, contemporary, romance and out of genre. We could include self published, short stories, and non-fiction a like. Because all of these books are important. And while ours won't have the prestige of the Hugo Awards, maybe we could look at the books for why the really matter to readers and not just narrow views of "woman and gay rights ruining everything" Would anyone be interested if I actually moved to start this up? I would need help, but I'm Okay heading it if need be
Booklr Awards ?
Okay first of all would anybody be interested in some sort of booklr awards?? A little bit like the goodreads awards, I thought it would be a cool idea to gather data on the books that connect us and the people who are involved in the book community because this little part of tumblr is so creative and amazing and I think it could be a wonderful display of book love. Get awards for the most ardent fans but also the most influential book of the year, stuff like that really So yeah discuss if you want, spread the word, get involved and hope this idea could actually become a real thing :)
