I expect the Kings to struggle to keep up with their division, because the coach is in over his head, and can’t motivate and inspire these players. The team has a lot of great parts, and some supremely talented players, so there is no excuse for things like the lack of goal production, and the inability to enter the zone on the power play. 

Last night, for example, the Kings fought like crazy to hold a vastly superior Sharks team to a tie, and then Stevens breaks up the Carter-Kopitar-Doughty line that’s been dominant in OT for three seasons, and puts Kovalchuck in. When I saw that, I knew the Kings were losing in OT, and they managed to make it boring, which is unforgivable.

It’s my hope that the team fires the coach, who has shown that he is committed to a system that hasn’t worked for five years, and bring in someone from the outside who can be competitive in the changing division and league.

If this team makes the playoffs, it’ll probably be as an 8th seed, and it’ll probably be by one or two games, which is a shame because they have the talent and the young players they need to make a real run at things. They just have terrible coaching and a system that doesn’t work.

All of that said, I am thrilled that hockey season is back!

So I'm new here - what is the correct way to pronounce Geno's name? I've heard it pronounced like five different ways.

I had an anon with the same question (in response to this post where I was complaining) so…

the main issue (amongst several lol) is that his first name is pronounced with a ‘y’ sound at the start, as in ‘Yevgeni’, though all the anouncers/commentators etc also seem to have issues getting the vowel sounds in both his names correct.

Unfair in that @booksmakeme used to live together and share progenitors? I guess that does give us a pre-existing inclination to be #squad for life, unfairly giving everyone else a lower chance of making the grade. Still, I’m sure there’s plenty of us to go around. :P

hello!! yes!! you can buy it on itunes, or you can buy it on amazon. there isn’t any way to get physical copies because to get vinyl made you have to get them in batches of like, 1000, and it’s very expensive, and there are not 1000 people who want to pay for 6 songs on vinyl you know what i mean. i don’t even want to pay for 6 songs on vinyl, and i wrote them.
