Facts About Me:
My favorite things in life are books, cats, music, and the great outdoors.
Speaking of great outdoors, I grew up on a farm so I may be a little biased in that direction. It also allows you to be able to have over 20 cats without being a crazy cat lady.
When I am an old lady, I want to adopt as many cats as possible because after volunteering at humane societies, I feel so bad for the poor kitties that are stuck in cages all day. So cross out what I said in #2, I guess I do want to be a crazy cat lady.
I love to write. I write all the time. I hardly write any of my stories down, but I am constantly writing something at all times in my head.
I'm in college right now majoring in history because I want to become a history teacher. I want to inspire the learning and love of history in more people since it is something important to our culture and who we are and the general response about history is "Ugh...history."
Self-identified Ravenclaw. Pottermore-identified Slytherin. Not really sure how this happened.
Someday I want to have a giant library. I am in the process of collecting as many books as I can. I want a room that has books lining the walls as my fortress of solitude.
I am a proud Christian. It is my identity, and I find solace in it.
I also believe that everyone should be equal. God created everyone in his image, and he loves each and every one. Therefore we should love everyone we see. No hatred based on race, or sexual orientation, or anything. Love your neighbor.
Even though I have books in my title, I don't very often post about books. I'm sorry. I just reblog stuff that I like or makes me laugh.
I love TV and movies more than I should...
books-gloriousbooks's questions:
What fictional universe do you NOT want to visit? I would have to say the world from The Giver. It would be hard to live in a world without color or emotions or any of the other things they don't have. I love the book, but think about a world like that is sad.
What is an attribute in a character that makes them irredeemable? Acting like a jerk. It doesn't make them appealing it at all. It makes me just want to punch them.
What Hogwarts House would you NOT like to be in? I'm sorry Puffs, but I would have to say Hufflepuff. I still love you guys, but I just can't say that it's for me.
What author would you most like to meet? Tough question. Since I was young, I always wanted to meet Laura Ignalls Wilder. She was my inspiration when I was younger. Today, maybe Cassandra Clare or JK Rowling.
Graphic novels, yea or nay? Yea. They are good. They may cut too much good stuff out, but they are still good.
How would you go about encouraging a child to read? If it was my child, I would do it like my parents did for me: they read to me before bed as long as I could remember and it was whatever book I wanted read to me. They also would take me to the bookstore every few months and I could buy books that interested me. By doing this, they encouraged and inspired me to read.
Zombie Apocalypse time. What book would you use as a melee weapon? War and Peace by Tolstoy because come on, that book is huge!!
What genre do you hate? Romance. It's not that I hate like romance in books, I just don't like books where the genre is romance. I like there to be elements of things other than just romance in my books.
What character would you immediately accept if they proposed to you? Oooh. Um . . . It would definitely be Peeta. He's so nice! And he likes to bake. He would be absolutely perfect.
Who is an author you think is great that not a lot of people know about? I love Tamora Pierce and I know she has a large fanbase, but I still think that not many people know about her AMAZING books.
What would you eat for elevensies? French toast, cereal and apples. Or maybe chocolate. Or whatever I can find :)
My Questions
What book got you started reading seriously?
How many books do you own?
Are you a library person or a book hoarder? (Do you more often read books from the library rather than have a personal collection or read from your own collection and continue to expand your collection?)
What literary world would you choose to live in if you had to live there for the rest of your life and why?
Are you a book crier or a book thrower when the book gets rough?
What is your favorite classic?
Physical books, ebooks or both?
Who is your favorite literary character?
What power from a book would you like to have? (Wizard from HP, Archery from HG, Demigod powers from PJ or HoO etc.)
What is your favorite literary quote?
What book series/world do you wish you created?

From fuckyeahprettybooks:
1. Which book changed your life forever and why?
I would have to say Redwall by Brian Jacques. It's the book that got me really into reading. I basically devoured the Redwall series and then moved on to more and more books. It's because of Redwall that I'm a huge reader.
2. Which book have you read the most?
I'm not sure if I've read Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith or The Secret Garden more times. It's probably a tie.
3. Which book character do you have the biggest crush on?
Oh geez. This changes a lot, but either a Weasley twin (because let's face facts, they're both fantastic) or Mr. Knightley from Emma.
4. If you could be any character in a book which character would you be and why?
Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. She is just so....content and brave and smart and loyal and just wonderful all around. Also, Harry Potter world. Obviously.
From thebookshelfofablogger:
1. How do you arrange your bookshelves?
I currently don't have any bookshelves right now (the horrors of dorm living!), but I generally arrange them by genre.
2. You know the feeling. A book has so much potential. The premise sounds exciting, the cover art is stunning, it’s been great great reviews. But. There’s one little thing, as you’re reading it, you just can’t get over no matter how hard you try. Name 3 books you’ve expected to love, but something in it just didn’t work for you.
Switched by Amanda Hocking is one - it sounded great, had great cover art, the plot was even pretty good, but the writing was so terrible I just wanted to cry. Now the next two are books I did enjoy, but not as much as I thought I would: Divergent by Veronica Roth and Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. Again, I DID LIKE THEM, but I thought I would absolutely loved them and I just...didn't. Not sure why. I would like to give them another try one day, though.
3. Do you ever completely give up on books?
I really try not to. I try my best to make it through a book. But sometimes...I just can't. And then I give up.
4.10 thing that pop into your mind when I say “Shakespeare". Go!
Twelfth Night, Puck, Midsummer Night's Dream, "young love~", Romeo & Juliet, King Lear, wherefore art thou, Iago, insults, yellow-livered
5. If you could only read one genre for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
Romance. Hands down. It's my favourite.
6. The best and worst film adaptations of novels?
Best: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. That was just...very well done, I thought. I also really enjoyed Chocolat. Worst: The Golden Compass. UGH. WHY.
7. Do you think of yourself as a writer?
I used to, but I've stopped writing for fun. Everything I write anymore is academic.
8. Name 5 under-appreciated authors.
Uh. Any author that's good and doesn't get enough recognition? Honestly, I don't have a good answer for this.
9. Is reading more of a daytime or nighttime thing for you?
It depends on my schedule. I tend to read more at nighttime, but that's mostly because I have things to do during the day.
10. If I were to challenge you to read only one of either plays, poetry or short stories for a year, which would you choose?
Plays, I think. I really enjoy plays.
From thegirlreadsbooks:
1. What is your favorite book-to-movie adaptation? Why?
I kind of already answered this, so I'm going to go a different way. My favourite book-to-screen adaptation is the BBC's Emma with Johnny Lee Miller as Mr. Knightley. I thought Romola Garai was the perfect Emma. Just absolute perfection. And the non-verbal interactions with Emma and Mr. Knightley were done so well. I just...it's a lovely interpretation and I just adore it.
2. If you could switch places with any fictional character, who would you pick? Why?
I believe I picked Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. But my other choice would be Professor McGonagall. She's, well, to put things simply, a total badass.
3. What’s your favorite quote from a book?
"I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant." -Persuasion by Jane Austen
4. Do you prefer happy, sad or bittersweet endings?
I prefer happy or bittersweet endings, depending on the book. If it makes more sense for a bittersweet ending, then that's what I want. But other than that, I want a happy ending. I don't particularly like sad endings, because they make me sad and even if they make sense and it seems like that IS what should have happened, I'm still just SO SAD about it.
Thank you so much for tagging me, lovely people!! I will tag: booksohbooks, withhernosestuckinabook, books-cupcakes, and anyone else who wants to??
My questions:
1. What is your favourite book-to-screen adaptation? This can be a movie or a TV series.
2. Pick three fictional characters you would most want on your side/to have your back in a fight.
3. Let's talk poetry. Do you like poetry? Do you read it often? Favourite poet?
4. If a book is written in British English, do you think it should be adapted into American English for American readers? (For things like favourite vs. favorite, different slang words, etc.) (For an example, think of the Harry Potter series, i.e. Sorcerer's Stone vs. Philosopher's Stone).

Questions for me:
1. What is your favorite genre?
I read and love a little bit of pretty much everything, but my favorites are fantasy and historical fiction. I've been trying to delve more into fantasy lately, as I often feel that I've only really read the crossovers, like ASoIaF, Neil Gaiman, etc.
2. Would you rather buy a book or get it from the library?
I'm far more likely to buy books. Ever since I was a kid, I've been a re-reader. I've probably read the entirety of Harry Potter about 10-15 times, I reread the Anne of Green Gables series almost every fall, and I have many other comfort books - books that remind me of when I first read them, make me incredibly happy, or give me just the right kind of heartbreak. So, if I am even close to sure that I'm going to enjoy a book before I actually read it, I'll buy it. Books that I'm not certain of enjoying, I'll borrow. For example, I have Graceling out from the library right now because I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy it (I made the right decision for that one).
3. What book inspires you?
Wow, I don't quite know how to answer this one. I'm not a writer myself, so I can't say that any books inspire me in the way this question was probably asked. However, pretty much every book that I read and like inspires me in some way. Looking for Alaska inspires me to take part in life fully, something like American Gods just makes my heart sing with its sprawl and scope -- I literally felt my heart vibrating while reading it-- and so many more. Tamora Pierce's novels helped me learn how to be a girl, be comfortable with myself, help other girls and be an autonomous individual, and looking back on how much her books affected me inspire me greatly to hopefully help someone else do the same for the confused little girls of the future.
4. Do you like to go see movies that are made from books?
Yes! I really do. Even if I hate it, there's something very interesting about seeing the way others have interpreted a book I've read. My only dislike is when I don't realize that a movie was based on a book before watching it, because that often interferes with my ability to enjoy the book, like Stardust by Neil Gaiman.
5. Hard-back or paperback ?
I usually buy paperbacks. They're cheaper, lighter, easier to carry around. Books that I'm really excited about or that I've demolished my paperbacks of are the only ones I'll buy in hard cover. So, I pretty much have Harry Potter, John Green's novels, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, The Hunger Games, and a couple other series in hard cover.
My Questions:
1. What book affected you the most as a child?
2. What is your favorite underrated book/series?
3. If you could forget reading a book so that you could experience reading it for the first time again, what would you choose?
4. What literary character is most like you?
