One of the nice things about my job, is that for two-three days a week, I am left on my own, in our second work location, running machinery. With noone to talk to, no customers to bother me, I get to put on some headphones (I recently invested in a pair of proper noise cancelling headphones) and play some music, or, put on a podcast. Lately it has been podcasts. Specifically The Magnus Archives. I'm almost finsihed my second listening of season 4, and as I have been binging the absloute shit out of this podcast, it's all I can think about.
I don't know where this idea came from, I was just showering when I had the thought "What if John was a kid under the care of Elias/Jonah" which then stemmed into "What if Martin was being rasied by Peter"
Obviously, there would be a lot of out of character moments, seeing as how characters are ages differently and personalities are speculated and based of what lore we've been given. But here's what's been floating around in my head. I may make a seperate side blog to share my ideas.
There is a single point that is believed to be the gateway used for the Entities to enter and infect the world. Avatars and Followers have flocked to this point over many centruies in the hopes that from this place they could bring their Entity into the world entirely. All attempts have failed, and instead a town of fears has flourished.
After the birth of Agnes, other Avatars decided to follow suit, whether birthing or adopting fit candidates.
John's parents died when he was young, leaving him in the care of his grandmother. She too died while he was young, and he was adopted by the Magnus Family, having been picked as a suitable vessel.
Elias Bouchard is the current head of the Magnus Family, a bastard and the only remaining Magnus member. Before inheriting the title, Elias lived in the city, attnding university. Doctors believe a bad trip resulted in a split personality. They can't explain the change in eye colour though.
Martin was sent away once his father left, his mother sending him as far as she possibly could. The home he was sent to was overcrowded, but he was adopted by Peter Lukas, and taken to live in the Lighthouse.
Peter Lukas was the captian of a cargo ship, but when the family member managing the Lighthouse died, he was forced to stay on land. He adopted Martin in the hopes that the boy will quickly take on the role of Lighthouse Keeper so he can return to the sea. (Peter does not understand that children cannot be left alone, especially when they're not able to properly provide for themselves)
Tim and Sasha have not been chosen as vessels. They're kinda like the beginning of the Scooby-Doo gang. They like to find and solve mysteries. They want to solve the mystery of why the twon is so weird. Tim's brother is alive.
NotSasha is another girl named Sasha. However, she copies everything Sasha does. Thus Tim and Sasha call her NotSasha
Gertrude is a strange librarian who moved into the town not to long ago. No one can figure her out, or her intentions, but a lot of the older Avatars are wary of her.
Gerard and Michael are two teens who have become Gertrude's assistants. They weren't really friends, not until they started helping Gertrude. Michael is kind of an Avatar for the Distortion. Hanging with Gerard has slowed his becoming an Avatar.
Mary Kaey runs a bookstore in the main street. She's not happy with Gerard's current postion and interests.
Jurgen Leitner is a recluse living on the outskirts of town in his old house hoarding a suspected library of strange books. Only Elias and Gertrude know they suspicions are true.
But, as we know, Sausage bought a toy Jimmy for Hermes. We don’t know if he only bought one, or if Joel will give Hermes another one. But, let’s just say Hermes has a toy Jimmy.
This could possibly be Hermes first every actual toy. Sure, he could play with the other kids in Sanctuary, or he could run around with Stratos. But, this is like, the first toy, that was bought outside of Sanctuary and Stratos, that’s a toy for just Hermes. So Hermes gets attached to it. Stuffs it in his bag, a necessity when going anywhere.
For Joel, this toy is a joke, something to mock Jimmy with. For Hermes, this is an action figure of a sheriff, who goes around protecting people and protecting the Law. Maybe Hermes decides in a game that he protects the Law, and the Lore.
And then, one day Hermes gets to meet Jimmy. And Jimmy’s all grumbling cause he’s not a toy. And Hermes is just in awe because The Sheriff is real. His toy is an actual person, there’s actually a Sheriff who protects the law, with a hat and a horse.
And Jimmy just, for this one time, let’s it be okay that he’s got a toy of him. Cause there’s a kid freaking out that he’s real.
HermitCraft Tango is icy boi, and Empires Jimmy is in the sweltering desert
+
One ending up in the others world
I need a GameMaster Tango wrapping freezing Jimmy in his cloak and leading him to one of the few warm fireplaces in the dungeon. Or Sheriff Jimmy letting Tango use his hat until they get to the Saloon for a cold drink so he doesn’t get heatstroke.
Tango so dizzy the sun rays look like golden wings behind Sheriff Jimmy that make him feel calm. Jimmy seeing GameMaster Tango feeding the Wardens, cackling about Decked Out and getting a sense of déjà vu.
So, we have Joey in love with Katherine. And Shelby’s crushing on Katherine as well. And then Joey’s kinda brought in Jimmy to this strange situation. And Scott’s been flirting with the law as well. But Scott’s also been making innuendos with Sausage. And Sausage is raising a son with Joel. And Lizzy’s an aunt to Joel’s son.
Do you reckon by the end of this season, all the empires will be linked through some familial relation?
As I learn to draw again, I thought, why not have some fun and do a bit of fanart. Specifically, works that coincide with my fanfic, Revive!
So here is some PowerPuff Girls art. I would do three, but I have yet to finish Buttercups. And it’s not fitting that I post two. So I’ll only post one at a time.
First we have Bubble.
Within the story of Revive! Bubbles isn’t a big focus during the first part. In fact, she is rarely mentioned. In later parts, when she returns to the story, she takes her job as the Mayor’s Assistant.
She often wonders how Miss Bellum did it. But then she’ll remember that Miss Bellum’s mayor, and her mayor, are two different people. And that Miss Bellym practically ran Townsville, where as Bubbles has become a packhorse for work.
The only reason Bubbles is yet to lose her mind as she is overworked is the support system at home. She has some peace of mind knowing that she doesn’t need to stress to get home early, that her kids will be fed and in bed, her husband will be taken care of, and there is someone waiting to help her take off her shoes and stumble to bed when she arrives at on godly hours.
This artwork took 7hr 38mins, and around a dozen references located on Pinterest.
Catching up with todays load of Empires episodes. So far only seen Pixl’s, and I’m halfway through Joel’s.
But, please, is Joel and Jimmy go to court over copyright I need Pix and False to be the judges. Pix because he’s the behind the scenes lore guy, and False because she hasn’t meet any of these empires yet and has no bias and I just think it would be funny.
Cause, just imagine, you’re tryna build machines to get you home, and then suddenly you’re being called in to watch an 11ft God, and a Sheriff man fight over the god using the sheriff’s image to make a toy and profit off that toy, and not hand any profit over to the person whose image is being used. All whilst a little green goblin and a definitely-human-and-not-anything-else human represent the two.
The bonus episode of Sandman was like getting on a rollercoaster that started off with a lot of sharp turns and gut wrenching drops, and then coasted of into pleasant ride around the theme park.
And now it has left me wanting more. God, give me more Dream caring for the people who love him but thought he hated them. I need it.
Also, got a lovely surprise hearing and seeing familiar faces. David and Georgia Tennant, Micheal Sean, even Neil Gaiman, Arthur Darvill, Amita Suman, and so many beautiful actors and actresses.
I do hope we get a second season. This series is absolutely beautiful and I love it and Tom’s acting is just, perfection.
