What happened at the beginning of the whole debacle, like, forever ago, was that as a military brat, I thought that a post about a stereotype of military kids was funny and added to the joke with more dumb stereotypes that people have been surprised that I don't fit.

I'm far from being a boot licker, honestly. In fact, I am far more liberal leaning than my family, and even my family, already being rather left-leaning for middle-class white americans, has begun to come around. The system is flawed, but it's a system I grew up in, separated for long periods from my dad because he was out on a submarine. Believe it or not, at times, I rather resent the military and the government for that. People just assume that, along with black ops training, crew cut hair, and a pile of firearms, military kids grow up into bootlicking, far-right assholes who have no sense of humor, irony, or self-awareness... Hence the great irony with which I post the boot boi doodle in response to some of those anon asks.

But to answer your implicit question, I made an account here because it looked fun. I have quite enjoyed tumblr, and it has opened my eyes to a lot of propoganda and lies and injustices that I would never have noticed before. I came for fun, but I stayed for the fun and also because interacting with people here who come from such dramatically different backgrounds is amazing and has helped me to become a better person.

Also I love the collaborative humor, and you just can't find that elsewhere on the internet.

Why do I put up with the hate? It doesn't really bother me. And every "kill yourself" that gets sent to me is one that doesn't get sent to a more emotionally vulnerable person that might actually do it.
