There has been a surprise new addition to the coop!
I went to visit my dad last week and he asked if I'd mind taking his last chicken. Her coopmate had been killed the night before when a raccoon broke into their coop. Dad doesn't want to get anymore chickens but he didn't want her to be by herself (or get eaten if the raccoon came back) so I brought her home to be with my little flock.
So please welcome Olivia! She is a 7 year old Booted Bantam. She's a super sweet little lady and very talkative!
Poor little gal has been through a lot of trauma with losing her buddy and the move. She has been very wary of Foggy which is certainly understandable considering how much larger Foggy is but they slowly seem to be getting more used to each other. Hoping they'll soon be friends and that they'll also get along with the babies when they are ready to move into the coop too! <3
And for fun, here's an old picture I took of her when she was about three months old. It's neat how much her coloring has changed over the years!
