Name: Giidra Hadley (Russian for Hydra and a species of Hydra) Planet of Origin: Alternia Blood Color: Violet (Eridan’s caste) Lusus: DaphniaMom - A three headed, incredibly large daphnia that has mood swings aplenty. Very motherly towards Giidra Sylladex: Kaleidoscope - One has to pick a scope, and try to make out what the item being reflected is. If they guess right, they get the item, if wrong, the item is flung at a high speed. This is very frustrating as you can never pick an item before looking through the scope, you just have to be lucky that scope has the item you want. Giidra loves it for its wonderful colors Strife Item: Needlekind (Thread and Needle), Bookkind (Biology book, 7th edition (900+ pages)) Hobbies: Persistent bothering of loved ones, Fiduspawn (raising part, hates fighting part), Science/Magic experiments, Studying large collection of books, Making clothes/taxidermy sculptures. Aspirations: To become like her ancestor and help Jade Bloods raise grubs so a higher percentage of grubs make it past their larva stage Likes: Grubs, Lusii, Reading, Pestering, Caring for others, Cooking, Thread and needle related activities, Dressing up, Science/Magic Dislikes: Not being able to control urges/senses, Stubborn people, Bossy people, Ruined books, Failed creations, Disrespectful people Personality: A lady who suffers from split personality disorder, Giidra has always done her best to hide and control herself from falling into a state of unconsciousness, letting them control. She is, besides that, a rather condescending lady who doesn’t even realize it. She has an undying love of defenseless creatures, taking it upon herself to help and let the grubs grow into beautiful colorful-flapping-insects. Giidra sees most as defenseless, although, as she is a high blood and being a high blood comes with its advantages in the strength department. And the fact that most people don’t know how weak they can be in comparison to her, in her eyes everyone is still a pupating grub. This purple blood can be a very preppy optimistic as well, always seeing the silver lining and the sunrise on the horizon. She can, as well, be a very easily set off person. Although she is kind and generous, she is easily angered and once her blood boils she isn’t able to control herself much. However she easily forgives, always down sizing herself for any mistakes she catches and repaying for any damages she’s done. Giidra is also… not very good at handling actual problems. She can loose control of a situation as quickly as she had control, barely helping other than being a good spirit raiser. A problem for the aspiring adoptive lusus, as all she can seem to do is do physical fixing. Her other personalities, two the last time she counted, she has no idea what they’re like but they seem to be murder friendly and embrace the violet caste’s expectations as she constantly awakens with a plentiful collection of lusii for Gl’bgolyb. Although she does use the flesh for the horrorterror feeding schedule, she skins the creatures and makes fine replicas in hope of someday using them as surrogate lusii. Dreamer Type: Prospit God-Tier: Witch of Light Quirk: E=3, speaks in caps, speaks like one would to a baby regardless of person, always ends with exclamation point Ex. OOOH, LOOK AT YOU YOU CUTI3 PATOOTY! L3MM3 JUST SQU33Z3 YOUR CH33KS, ABWAHBWAHBWAH! AR3 W3 G3TTING FUSSY MIST3R?! Trolltag: ActiveAnecdote [AA] Land Name: Land of ? and ? (LO?A?) Ancestor: The Matronae A violet blood who took it upon herself to raise the orphaned grubs that had their lusus killed for Gl’bgolyb. However, she was prone to violent outburst like any other high blood, and as such her job was frustrating and fruitless. Oh, all those poor grubs, they never saw it coming… The Matronae, however, made a large profit off of grub paint and grub snacks. Symbol: Symbol for Female Snake, edited to have three heads.
Oh boy. Here we go!! :3
First off, LUSUS. Oh my gosh. I actually love it. It's so unusual and bizarre. TBH it'd be funny if she called her lusus "Daphne" that's literally what I kept reading it as.
Great sylladex, I love it as well!
Hobbies seem good as well. She's like the Brock of fiduspawn hahaha! She also seems like she might be a bit clingy with her pestering and all. Possibly even overbearing at times. I like this idea.
I'm going to have to say though you might need some tweaking in your bios and information. Grubs are only grubs for a short amount of time before they pupate within the caverns. It's stated in canon that they hatch, then find stalactites in which to make their cocoons to pupate, then hatch (into what I assume is now called wigglers) to face the trials of the cavern and then, given they survive, they emerge the cave to be picked by a lusus. So it's not likely that there are actually many grubs to raise. You might need to revamp their story a little bit to fix this. Maybe it was wigglers with dead lusii instead of grubs? I don't believe Jadebloods on Alternia are tasked with grubcare either, I think that was just on Beforus. Alternia is much more a "survival of the fittest" kind of society, I doubt they'd have trolls stationed to help grubs survive. (I may be wrong though, it's been a while since I've read so far back. If anyone knows otherwise please let me know!)
Likes and Dislikes. I like a lot of these, they seem to make sense for her given the information you've provided. Not only does she seem clingy and overbearing now, but she also seems quite impatient and almost even controlling! I feel some of her hobbies help keep her focused and calmed (like the needlework) I'm definitely getting a very "controlling, condescending mother figure" feel for her.
Personality... This one, I'm going to ask you to be very cautious with. First, I'm going to recommend (if you haven't already) doing THOROUGH research on MPD, as it's a very sensitive subject for many and should be handled carefully and respectfully. If you give your OC a mental disorder, it needs to be portrayed correctly. Only do this if you feel you know it well enough not to misrepresent the condition! Otherwise, it's wiser just not to do it at all.
Moving on with that, some more things that need to be noted or looked at: - What do you mean by "a state of unconsciousness"? Do you mean asleep? Or does something happen to trigger her other personality to come to? Does it happen under large amounts of stress? Anxiety? Does a certain smell or sight possibly trigger it? (please note I don't know much in depth to MPD, I'm just trying to think of things that might apply. Please do research to get more accurate answers to this!)
I like how naturally condescending she is honestly. How she sees everyone else practically below her. I love this. And again her easily angered aspect further reinforces the impatient feel I'm getting for her. I'm a little thrown off by the 'easy to forgive, kind and generous but also easy to anger and violent when mad' contradiction going on however. It might just be the wording, but I'd give that another look if I were you. It might need some editing. Kind and violent don't quite go hand in hand.
Reading on, it feels she's possibly quite compulsive as well. I get the idea that maybe she likes to try and take control, with the overly-mothering nature and all, but doesn't quite know how to handle it when she is given control. She seems easily overwhelmed despite her initial determination.
-Back to the multiple personalities, my first question is, how does she 'count' them? What does she have to go by? Does one keep a journal? Is there some difference in the way things appear when she regains control? In fact, who are these other personalities? What are they like? What sets them apart from one another? Theyre 2 entirely different people after all, they have traits and goals of their own. WHY are they murderous? This information is important in knowing all there is to know about your OC and representing this disorder correctly. It's called multiple personalities for a reason, the other personalities aren't just flat and murderous and that's all. They have thoughts and feelings of their own as well.
Lastly, I like the idea of taxidermy being a way for her to work towards her aspirations. It's a neat and slightly morbid hobby to have and I'm a sucker for those.
And finally, my last comment on this review.
I love that quirk.
It probably drives other trolls CRAZY.
