Zambia Trip - Blog 0.8

One of the most incredible parts about going to a LTT (Leadership Training Time) in another country is that you are able to meet and grow friendships with people you would normally never have met. It has been so much fun meeting some of the local leaders and some of the leaders from all over Southern Africa.

Today was day one of the Ndola LTT. It was very different to the lusaka LTT but we still felt the heart of God coming through. We also went to one of the local markets. It was quite an experience but still cool to buy some local foods and material.

Tonight Kay cooked us Kapenta, it is a small fish, with mshima, which is like pap. It was delicious! Its sad to think that there is only 4 days left on our trip but it will be good to see everyone soon! Lots of love. Xx

Zambia Trip - Blog 0.7 (Sunday)

Lusaka Family Church really lives up to its name!

This morning they welcomed us in with arms wide open and it felt like we were back home with our NHC family. Keir Tayler shared an incredible message on revival and how its starts us with us surrendering to God. We also went to one of the local markets and perfected the skill of bargaining. Then we set off to the next destination Ndola.

We are still on the road, but are so enjoying seeing the life style of zambians along the road. We are really looking forward to the next stage of our adventure. Love Gina

Zambia Trip - Blog 0.6 (Saturday)

Early this morning we sent Debi off on the plane on the way home. It was sad to see her leave, its always a good laugh having her around.

Today was a lovely relaxed day, we went on a lunch time boat trip on the Kafue river. It was stunning! We had some delicious Brine (which is fish). Tonight we went to a healing meeting at a church in the township. It was amazing to see the faith of the people to see God move.

Last night in a Lusaka tonight, then we off to Ndola tomorrow after visiting LFC (Arnold and Gisela's church) in the morning.  Lots of love!

Zambia Trip - Blog 0.4

(It seems we missed a blog, but the team arrived safely in Lusaka, Zambia.) Worship this morning had the sweet fragrance of God. It was incredible to see how we all come from different cultures, countries, background yet we all worship the same God! Tim shared a beautiful picture of the importance of Africa in God's plan even though some people might think otherwise. We all enjoyed spending time playing with some of the local children and really fitting into the community. We've just got back from Arnold and Gisela's house, connecting with a few of the team leaders. God has been so inspiring today to all of us. Now its time to hit the sack :) Lots of love.

Zambia Trip - Post 0.3

After all the panic and rush, we made it through the border with plenty of time to spare! Thank goodness :) Jolly Boys backpackers, welcomed our tired and weary bodies. The men gallantly set up camp for a good nights rest. After a long time of convincing Margie to stop talking for more then 5minutes, we finally drifted off to sleep!! Bright and early this morning Deb's woke us up with hot coffee and rusks and so the day began! Tim, Margie, kay and I sent off for Victoria Falls. We ended up running most the way cos of time but we were still able to admire the incredible and breath taking beauty of God's creation. While we were enjoying the falls, Kev and Debs had opportunity to befriend and pray for Das from Holland who they met @ Jolly Boys. The car was filled with laughter while we played eye spy en route to Lusaka. We are so looking forward to seeing Arnold and Gisela this evening! Lots of love Gina

Zambia Trip - Post 0.2

The time is ticking for us to get to the. Zambian border: 80km down, 30km go. Today has been very exciting, fun and filled with enjoyable music! It started off with Tim, Margie and I sleeping under the stars around the camp fire., we packed up and then hit the road for a day of travel. Tim and Margie got to see their first Botswanan elephant, we also saw buck, warthog and an antelope... God has been so faithful through every border stop, veterinary gate and protecting us every step of the way. So, you will have to find out tomorrow if we made it through to the beautiful country Zambia. Love to you all!

Border-Crossing Trips

In August, depending on the availablility of a team, there is the possibility of a road trip to Zambia from 8 to 19 August. The main purpose is to attend the Equip training times in Lusaka from 10 to 12 August and another Equip the following week in Ndola from 15 to 17 August. In between we'll be visiting churches in Lusaka and possibly Ndola. There are a number of travel variations to this trip, i.e. if you can only come for one week, the option exists to fly in and drive home, or visa versa. So please speak to Kevin ASAP or call 082 8243649 for more info if you're available and keen to book a seat.

L-O update from Zim Trip, Part 7 (Thursday - 7 April)

Just come off the lake & now on our way back 2 Lion's Den 4 the night. Saw a pride of lion along the banks this morning, what a treat! We'll be packing up & heading south early 2moro morning, arriving home either sat or sun. Lookin 4ward 2 cooler weather!
