ECHO Log: Decision

    She is not as oblivious to the decision as her mother believes. huddled in a small corner when her mother and father hid away to discuss their decision, she sits troubled by her ill brethren. 

   Aelfare remains restless in sleep, and she dampens another cloth to his forehead. They are to take him away very soon… and their family shall be incomplete again. 

   It is by her voice alone Aelfare lay calm to the night fraught with terrors, his health declined somewhat bearable as she is able to glow her magic’s warmth upon his scarred abdomen. Lady Lilith cannot allow him to go alone! She cannot! Aelfare will be worse without her care, with no lullaby to sooth his dreams. With no warmth to offer from her hands, her company…

      They cannot be incomplete again!

   And so Lancia makes the decision, with or without mother and father’s consent. She shan’t abandon her brother.

          She must be with him in Sanctuary...

Defiant Kindness

       His injuries were fatal, his breathing hollow. Lancia nearly fainted when Sir Zer0 and mother carries him into the cell, but swallows her squeamishness to allow herself to be near him. Mama runs to the infirmary, Papa pushes Sir Zer0 aside to push his son's innards harder into his abdomen. It is then she sees the deep black within Zer0's side when she gasps at the wound. 

            Metal wires?!

         --Mama was harsh when she demands Lancia leave the room, but for the first time, she defies her. "Mama, allow me to help."

           "Lancia, leave!"

            "I will stay and help Aelfare! Mama! Papa! I know white magic! Allow me to heal him! Please!"

         Kanavant looks to his young sibling with uncertainty, aware Pandora's atmosphere allows little magic without a shield to sputter it to life. 

          "Please!!"

        Kanavant sighs deeply, turns his dying eldest brother. Even Papa, when his mighty shoulders deflate, turns a wary eye to Mama...

         "It's his only chance…"

        The deliberation was cut short, Mama's strength failing as she is pulled aside by Sir Zer0. "Give her your shields. All of you." They allow her to come close, shields stacked to her side as she raises her small hands to the mess upon her brother's body.

       "Doga, oh sweet Doga, please allow my hands to thwart the mark of the Beast, and send his minions to the hells of damnation, that I may praise your kindness by his healing…"

      A white glow emerges from her hands and the shields begin to whir and click, as though they were never removed in the first place. Deep is her concentration to the wound, slowly, much too slowly, it begins to knit in place...

Forced Reconciliation// Borderlands AU

     Before mother lain me to bed, Lancia grasped quickly to her hand, two soft hands cupping her own. Lancia's eyes are worried.

   "My love, does something trouble you?"

     Yes. She wished to reveal what she had promised Lady Athena, what she plans to do in order to return them all to Sanctuary; back to where they are safest. It is wrong to lie, her conscience insists. Unbecoming of a priestess. Her muzzle opens, the truth just on her tongue. 

     "If I ever do wrong, Mama… would you forgive me?"

     Mother has always been perceptive, her ears quaked in alarm as she came close. Lancia saw her mind at work, puzzles connected. She felt she had spoken too much, that she would barge into Lady Athena's quarters and demand reason of these concerns. Lancia breathes thanks  to the gods when she said, "Do not dare think I shall hold you illy in my sight, my heart." Mother brushes her lovely claws through Lancia's soft hair. The acolyte can see the haunted stare. What is it mother thinks upon now? "Lancia… if there is a time you ought to do wrong… I can only pray there you have done so in honor of a good cause."

     The words haunt her. Even now, as she lay to rest, her brothers snores deep, and mother's and father's soft, they ring louder than any scream she has heard in that glass prison Handsome Jack had trapped her. She rises from the cell bed, the thin felt blanket barely wards the cold chill. Gooseflesh rises under her short fur when she silently slips from the cell, her taloned feet as silent as a ghost's.

     Lady Athena is awake, as promised. Lancia shyly looks away, her ears lowered when she finds her voice. The plans shall come into motion in a matter of hours, but doubt still lingers. "Lady Athena… I am unsure I can continue this through…"

"Must we really leave Sanctuary, Mama…?"

She paces to and fro, hands tightened to her chest with worry. He said her mother is out there. She has 'lost all reason'. She snapped. 

"Gods above, mother, please no... please do not come here..." She prays, pacing back and forth in her glass cage, her 'habitat'. She could speak to Clance, let her nerves be calmed by the deep of his voice. 

I have to tell him. She dashes toward the tree, grabbing the ECHO communicator Savuk gave to her only two days before. Jack still has yet to find out her new addition in the cage, already mastered of the device's buttons. 

"Clance.... Clance, my brother, please answer me... I believe mother is in trouble!"
