as we get older, it seems like the only thing that we have to do during the summer is school assignments. however, there are a bunch of other things you can do during the summer that are a lot more fun than schoolwork but are still productive!
exercise. i know, the idea of exercise isn’t always fun, but there are way more ways to exercise than you probably thought! you could dance, jump rope, and more! you can even find workouts you can do on your couch while watching netflix!
find new music. when i have some downtime, i love perusing spotify to find new artists and music. summer is a great time to explore genres you hadn’t before, make new playlists, and find new musical obsessions. some good spotify playlists to discover new artists i recommend are discover weekly, new music friday, and pop rising.
learn dances. youtube is a good resource for choreography and dance routines to all kinds of music, and these can be really fun to learn. it doesn’t matter if you don’t think youre good, because it can be just you, following a tutorial, dancing by yourself in your bedroom. and trust me, this is actually really fun to do! this can also be a great way to exercise (see my first point.)
take up a new hobby. again, youtube is a great resource for finding tutorials and classes on how to do just about anything. chances are, anything you want to learn, it’s somewhere on the internet. these classes can be really fun and summer is a great time to try something new!
make mundane chores more fun. if you are tasked with cleaning your house, your yard, or other tasks like that, there are many ways to make that more fun for you. invite your friends over and make a party out of cleaning the backyard. put on a good dance playlist and rock your heart out while cleaning the kitchen. even have a water war when cleaning your driveway!
explore your town. there are probably some places in your town, no matter where you live, that you’ve never been to. whether that is a new hike, restaurant, or activity place, summer is a great place to explore your town and find new favorite places. better yet, grab your crew and just walk around your town, but explore the more off-terrain areas.
i hope this helped anyone who’s struggling with a bit of summer boredom. if you need help planning out a busy summer, check out my other post for some advice on that. i’ll talk to you guys later, bye!
