as we get older, it seems like the only thing that we have to do during the summer is school assignments. however, there are a bunch of other things you can do during the summer that are a lot more fun than schoolwork but are still productive!
exercise. i know, the idea of exercise isnāt always fun, but there are way more ways to exercise than you probably thought! you could dance, jump rope, and more! you can even find workouts you can do on your couch while watching netflix!
find new music. when i have some downtime, i love perusing spotify to find new artists and music. summer is a great time to explore genres you hadnāt before, make new playlists, and find new musical obsessions. some good spotify playlists to discover new artists i recommend are discover weekly, new music friday, and pop rising.
learn dances. youtube is a good resource for choreography and dance routines to all kinds of music, and these can be really fun to learn. it doesnāt matter if you donāt think youre good, because it can be just you, following a tutorial, dancing by yourself in your bedroom. and trust me, this is actually really fun to do! this can also be a great way to exercise (see my first point.)
take up a new hobby. again, youtube is a great resource for finding tutorials and classes on how to do just about anything. chances are, anything you want to learn, itās somewhere on the internet. these classes can be really fun and summer is a great time to try something new!
make mundane chores more fun. if you are tasked with cleaning your house, your yard, or other tasks like that, there are many ways to make that more fun for you. invite your friends over and make a party out of cleaning the backyard. put on a good dance playlist and rock your heart out while cleaning the kitchen. even have a water war when cleaning your driveway!
explore your town. there are probably some places in your town, no matter where you live, that youāve never been to. whether that is a new hike, restaurant, or activity place, summer is a great place to explore your town and find new favorite places. better yet, grab your crew and just walk around your town, but explore the more off-terrain areas.Ā
i hope this helped anyone whoās struggling with a bit of summer boredom. if you need help planning out a busy summer, check out my other post for some advice on that. iāll talk to you guys later, bye!
just a quick post before i go to sleep, but happy fourth of july to any fellow americans out there! i hope everyone is having an amazing and fun day (regardless of if you're celebrating anything or not) and i'll get a post up sometime this week! love you guys <3
Members of the studyblr community have definitely seen this challenge. I personally have done this challenge too! But what exactly are the 100 Days of Productivity?
For this challenge, all you need to do is post 100 times about your productivity. Generally, youād create one post for the challenge each day. However, they donāt need to be consecutive days, and you could combine multiple days into one post.
Who?
Anyone and everyone can do the 100 days of productivity challenge! Itās most common in students and studyblrs, but itās open to all.
Where?
Iāve only seen it on Tumblr, but you can also post on Instagram or any other social media platform of your choice.
When?
I start my 100 days of productivity at the beginning of a school year. You can start whenever youād like! Two good times to start are the start of a new year or a new school year.
How?
The most common way to post in this challenge is to post photos of what you did each day. Still, this isnāt a requirement - you can do a written summary as well.
I donāt know exactly what the official tag for this challenge is, but I tend to use #100 days of productivity and #100dop.
Thatās all there is to it! Itās a very open-ended challenge, with only one loose guideline. So go ahead and start posting!
here's a little summer studying i did recently :) and sorry for the awkward head moments in the viewframe sorry for the video quality - i'm still working out...
check out my first youtube video! the quality is pretty spotty, if anyone knows how to make imovieĀ videos not blurry when uploaded to youtube, and the shooting was kind of awkward, but i hope you enjoy my study session!Ā
Heyaaaa, most of the tumblrs Iāve been following are inactive. So letās do something, Iām planning to do a SUPER-DUPER-EXTRA MASTERPOST on active studyblrs that track posts. This means, REBLOG this post with your tracking hashtag so that studyblrs can use them knowing that someone will see their posts!!! šø
here are some techniques and tips that i use in my summer planning and will help you balance productivity with having fun!
make monthly calendars. even though you may have fewer events going on in summer versus the school year, being able to see your whole summer laid out in one place really helps when making plans. write down any trips you are taking, volunteering/work shifts, and other appointments and events.
break down your summer assignments.Ā having to write āread bookā over and over again on your to-do lists wonāt make you feel like youāve actually accomplished anything, so break up big summer assignments into smaller chunks. for instance, if you do have to read and annotate a book, divide it by chapter or by page groups. if you have to take notes on chapters in a textbook, divide it by section. being able to check things off, even if they are small sections, will give you that feeling of accomplishment and will make you more productive down the road. (I got this idea from Sareena at studyign!)
make a master to do list with all non-academic things you need/want to get done.Ā often, you think of more things you want to do during the summer than you actually end up doing. It helps to write everything down in one list, so when youāre just sitting around with nothing to do, you can refer back to that list. this can include things like cleaning your room, refreshing your decor, starting a blog, etc. summer is a great time to learn a new craft or pick a new hobby, so donāt be afraid to try new things!
have some form of weekly planning.Ā whether you choose to make weekly spreads or just use a printable of the week to plan your events, being able to keep track of any appointments of events you have will help you with planning other things. rather than having to go back to your monthly spread every time you need to make plans, having a weekly system will help you streamline your weeks and be more productive. i use weekly spreads, but using a little weekly sticky note or even a piece of paper or a whiteboard you put up in your room also do the job.
make daily to-do lists. having at least a few tasks you want to get done each day helps to cut down on the time you spend doing nothing. if you find yourself wasting away in the depths of youtube or tumblr, having a small to do like āclean roomā or āput away laundryā will help pull you out of your meaningless task and make you more likely to be more productive. again, this can be anything from a bullet journal to a blank piece of paper you have lying around. products like āTo Do List in a Bookā would also help a lot with this.
i hope you guys enjoyed this tips and found them helpful. have a great day, and iāll talk to you guys again in my next post! bye!
hi, iām neha! iām a fifteen-year-old student who tries to study but usually ends up procrastinating. i mostly post bujo + lettering + study notes (when school is in session) iāll try to post study tips, lettering tips, and bullet journal inspo as frequently as possible. excited to see how this goes and i hope you'll join me on my journey of equal parts of frustration and happiness!
