Saw these today and had to share made me think of Boris and how he might have changed after Theo left. I’m sorry but hc I totally could see Mr. impulsive Boris P as the type to end up getting so many random tattoos. Argue with yourself. I’m right.

TRACING ‘I LOVE YOU’ ONTO THE OTHER’S BACK, THINKING THEY’RE ASLEEP AND THEM ANSWERING IN THEIR HEAD (to random, small, little things like the other making -te a ifitstheo b o i l i n g h o t w i t h t h r e e s u g a r s j u s t t h e w a y- breakfast or fixing their hair or finding the * d a m n k e y s *) FOR THE REST OF THE DAY (post Amsterdam, in New York, probably. Reading this made me immediately think of Selling a Fake... When Theo can’t fucking say it, but he knows it’s true. When he can’t confess how much he loves Boris, but he’s huddled up in bed with him practically living there (before he actually moves in). When everything is terrifying and Theo can’t make a single move-- he quietly starts tracing around Boris’s birthmarks on his back, like he’s stargazing, stirring the milky way. Then his long drags turn into cursive... I.... Love... Y...ou.... Boris makes a little noise in his sleep, settling back in bed from the sensation but not knowing, right? Definitely not knowing, there’s no way....

Or fixing Boris’s hair???? Boris fixing Theo’s??? Theo getting up for work and Boris still laying in bed watching him hurry around. Before he grabs his coat, Boris sits up and waves him over. Theo braces his weight on his knee before leaning over the bed, thinking Boris just wants to kiss him goodbye-- then Boris reaches for his hair and starts parting it correctly. The man who doesn’t even own a hair brush knows how much Theo’s outer appearance matters to him and wants to let him give the best impression at work...

Or Theo using his nightmare insomnia for good (as much as he can) by puttering in the kitchen and having the water boiling and some eggs cooking by the time Boris gets up. He’s got Boris’s shoes lined up by the door and placed his keys in his coat pocket already so he doesn’t lose or forget them. Boris is hesitant, but mostly because he’s confused. It’s familiar-- the two of them sharing meals and time together-- but having a genuine meal, a real breakfast with eggs and toast and tea and the newspaper and a boyfriend??? That’s so different. But Boris can’t wait to embrace it.

Y’all!!!! I just came up with a good vibes happy HC for Boris and or Theo depending on what you’d prefer and anyone who likes drawing give it a shot ima try when I start sketch practice soon. I’m starting to self teach art from the beginning so don’t judge anything I share. Anyways the idea came from the song 1994 by Cavetown, which if you follow with my rambling posts you’ll see already that I was projecting them on the song cause it was also big mood for me.

So these two parts. (Highlighted the first part cause ugh imagine a few good memories Boris might have of like his mom making up stories on the floor with him when his dads just had a crazy drunken night and finally asleep and they can’t wake him so she makes stories up in a whisper and they’re all happy. Kinda got the vibes too tho of that under the kitchen table scene from the Swedish show Clark (based on Clark Olafsson) lmk if u want me to try and find a clip n share for references I will regardless if I draw it.)— the second idea tho that was happy was the second highlighted bit 

I thought it could be cute as happy kids to be in flower crowns. Lol thaz all. 🤧😭🤌🏻🥺cause they deserve happiness even if we gotta make it up lol

(And of course to go a feelsy way with cause I’m emo like dat, the line could tie into them being all repressed emotionally and blaming “the child in a daisy crown” for being too weak as the root of their problems cause they can’t seem to shut off their feelings they hate themselves for having cause they learned so young to control them in order to survive but with each other they can’t — wow it’s no wonder I project so hard on them) but at least the “I’m trying to love the person I was born” means they’re trying to accept that part of themselves. so i just got an idea for something and im unsure if i should add it to the Valantines day fic as a memory that comes back to him or a one shot.. im thinking adding it to that since he’s triggered into thinking of Boris during his studies for Conversational Russian it would work out well that he triggers some stuff up! especially surrounding his cultural differences.

Anyways so.. the idea was kinda birthed from me just learning and also subconsciously always wondering how tf they even started doing stuff when they were fucked up because like.. the repressed homophobia runs so deep with them both.. anyways, i think it would be a cute idea that Boris suggested they do пить на брудершафт cause they talk about being like brothers but it also involves kissing and is often used between two in a romantic way of attempting starting courtship with someone you’re interested in/want to kiss and test the waters with.

passionate headcanons: i know this isn’t passionate but rather just passion BUT: when they are having uhhhh wonderfully sober and clearly consensual sex, boris always puts a record down because vinyl has this really intentional temporality: it has to be flipped and changed after like, twenty minutes. if theo needs a reason to get up and kind of call a time-out, he has every chance to get up and change the record. boris never says this is why he does it, but it works all the same and he’s very happy to give theo his space. after a while though, the music just becomes music and theo barely hears it when it stops playing. he’s pretty focused on something else.

canceled headcanons: i don’t know if i have any cancelled hcs, but i imagine theo would absolutely cancel boris if he ever said that testing paint swatches on a room is a waste of time (which he definitely has)

confident headcanons: okay so like, i’m just gonna say it??? theo’s peak confidence would be when he starts trying to get boris to Do Stuff while they’re just out and about. or staying over at hobie’s place. or flying to amsterdam. confident theo is a menace, especially when added to confident boris, who loves Doing Stuff no matter where he is.

excitement headcanons: i feel like this is so boring of me to say, but my main hc for theo and boris in the future is just... they get excited about things more often. like, anything. they both have the same idea to get chinese takeout the same night and are currently waiting for the delivery? excited. theo buys his old favorite type of cereal when he’s getting groceries? excited. boris gets a new record in a thrift box and it’s actually a really great find? excited! everything’s just great after a while, even when it’s not. instead of happy about life, theo finds himself excited. there’s a future he wants, finally.

attention headcanons: so while we all agree that boris is just about the biggest fan of attention there is, i feel like theo is a VERY close second. after he kind of recalibrates to his new life, he loves getting attention. especially from boris. and not in the way where if boris gives anyone else attention he snaps and feels jealous. no, theo just loves any moment that boris looks at him with his huge, sweet, and all encompassing eyes. being the center of someone’s world, even for a second, is SO theo’s favorite thing. especially the kind of attention boris gives him... oh that man turns into a big puddle of “uh-huh, yeah, sure”

makeup headcanons: well, we both know that mister hetero-masculine decker would never even look at a handcream... but boris??? oh, i feel like he’d dabble with eye makeup or something. he’s not having a skin care routine or anything-- god knows he’d barely be someone to take it off before going to sleep-- but i definitely see him being like: clumpy mascara? give it here, potter. give it over. i want to bat lashes like a man. (there’s also the vague thought of boris having to steal foundation to cover bruises or cuts on his face but now he does it for fun hiding just under the surface of this...)

dancing headcanons: short and sweet? neither of them can dance. theo doesn’t like to move his body like that, and boris has the opposite problem: he moves so wild and crazy just trying to dance and feel good he definitely knocks something over every time. there’s always music on in there house, but it’s always boris that’s like c’mon potter, dance with me! just dance for a second, come here! we dance! and theo is like: i would rather be dead from blunt force trauma, thank you but no thanks baby.

giving roses headcanons: it takes theo about ten years to fucking telling himself it’s okay to buy boris flowers. and he really does like doing it, once his brain cooperates. so much of his memories of boris surround dry, cracking death and burning, scorched sand. it’s nice to buy his best friend-- his husband, practically-- something alive and fresh and colorful and bright. something that reminds theo of how he feels now, how he’s felt with boris every day since vegas.

confusion headcanons: yeah, theo took conversational russian, but that doesn’t mean he remembers any of it. for the first year and a half of their reunion relationship-- once they’re all moved back in together and deciding to be a team again-- theo is horrible at understanding boris. but he won’t tell him. boris is so used to being around his folks that know his language, he slips into it frequently when they’re together-- asking for the salt or the wine, telling theo where he’s going in the morning, saying goodbye and some semblance of an i love you-- but theo only gets about 50% of it, 50% of the time. he smiles and nods, repeating the sounds of it until he can write it down phonetically and look up wtf boris just said. boris catches on when theo starts accidentally standing him up for dates he thinks they’d made that morning.

party headcanons: it’s funny to me that when i read the word party and boreo i was so sure they would go together and then i was like... they only ever have a party for two. just them. they drink and do coke like a B-school frat boy BUT they really don’t “party”... but my hc is that when they’re older they definitely do, but less in a crazy way and more in the familial way. boris definitely gets all his friends together in a bar he buys out, and just lets chaos ensue. parties become less this stiff formal event in which theo needs to drink in order to even be there, and instead something boris does in order to get everyone that makes him happy-- and that he wants to treat-- in the same room, where theo is drinking strictly so he can prove to a man--that is speaking in broken english about how much better he knows boris-- that he can chug a beer faster than him. theo loves parties when he’s older. and boris has always been the life of them.
