My motivation is so up and down right now. I've started a couple of one shots and finished one today but it's kind of hit and miss. Idea grabs hold and then drops me.

I'm hoping to do a 'not a nanowrimo' with some writing friends in November and I want to work on something original. I'm super excited right now and I'm having fun making mood boards and fleshing out characters and themes. But will I still feel this excited ina month?

I’m a ball of nerves.

I’ve applied for a new job.

I did a ton of research, had four informational interviews about the position with the players involved, told my boss I’m seeking out a new job, and now I’m waiting to see if I’ll get called for a proper hiring interview.

I’ve been 15 years in my current museum position. I think I have wrung just about all I can out of it. This new job is in an adjacent field, one I’ve wanted to break into for a long time. It’s also one that, even in entry level positions, usually requires a specialized degree, which I don’t have. I DO have decades of experience in my current field. I’m hoping it’s enough.

It’s also a significant cut in my hours. This scares me.

But I’ve made up my mind. I HAVE to pursue this.

Am I too old to do this? Am I too old not to?

Aside: I feel like I'm always moaning about work when I mention it lol. I do love my job its just a lot. It's especially tough right now and I'm under a lot of pressure and yeah, my crown is slipping a lil bit 🤷‍♀️but that's ok. I just need my week off. 9 days of food and love and dog cuddles and smutty writing and NO ANNOYING DIRECTOR YASSSSS and I shall be refreshed and renewed and feeling more myself😇

Discovered this morning that one of my tires was flat, so I had to bus up to Canadian Tire to buy a little compressor so I could inflate my tire so I could drive back to Canadian Tire to get said tire replaced. Realized once I got there that the sidewall on another tire was cracked, so it needed replacing as well. Three hours later I have two new tires and $240 less in my bank account.

This is not how I planned to spend one of my remaining vacation days, but here we are.

Something a little different: ⚠️ TW: Vaccination, Chronic Illness ⚠️ (but positive ❤️)

It’s now 24 hours post Pfizer vaccine shot #1 and so far the only side effect I have is a sore arm. Which is very normal for me when I get a vaccine.

Being chronically ill I was very worried that it would take me down for a bit but I’m happy to say I was wrong. My spouse and I were lucky to get in a mass vaccination program and it went perfectly.

I wanted to make this post for anyone else who’s worried about getting vaccinated. Your worries are valid and I hope this can give you some relief. Please take care of yourselves and your community ❤️ we’re all in this together!
