With the @born-lucky-zine leftover sales open, it's finally time for me to share my story, you soon find you have few choices. Read it here.
She was late. Why was she late? It’s because of these foolish palanquin bearers. You really can’t trust anyone these days. (It had absolutely nothing to do with Father forgetting to deploy a messenger to inform her that they would be leaving for the Earth Kingdom earlier than originally planned. It didn’t.)
(Thanks to @geopini for the gorgeous illustration!)
The way Taylor Swift said “I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost, the room is on fire, invisible smoke, and all of my heroes die all alone. Help me hold onto you” and Kate Miller-Heidke said “Cause the weight of the world, it just gets to my head and I suddenly can't get myself out of bed and I don't have a friend and I'm sick and alone. Nobody bothers to pick up the phone. Hold me, hold me, hold me. When you hold me, I know I was born, born, born, born lucky” and Owl City said “I'll sit on the front porch all night waist deep in thought because when I think of you, I don't feel so alone”. Yeah, I felt that shit.
Finished my Born Lucky cat skull tattoo! This was my first time really painting digitally as opposed to just sort of... coloring in? It had its challenges (I absolutely hate drawing and painting flowers especially) but I’m actually happy with how it came out. Digital is definitely more forgiving than acrylics.
Prints of this design are available for $10 plus shipping and handling -- just send me a PM.

She felt cold. Empty. Without thinking, she summoned a flame to warm herself up. Or, at least, she tried to. A tiny orange flame winked into existence in her palm, only to flicker out. Her eyes widened, and she tried again. And again. And again. Shaking, she walked over to the nearest window, checking the sky. There was the comet, carving a path through the horizon. Like all firebenders, Azula had an innate connection to the sun. She could always feel its position in the sky, no matter where she was. And she’d learned about that comet. It was supposed to give a firebender more power than a hundred suns. So why can’t I feel it?
