❈ --- They hadn’t anticipated rain, yet here they were, running through a downpour. Vlad held Mina’s hand as they ran down the street, laughing and yelping as the rain completely soaked them to the bone. But as they stood in front of his home, the vampire turned to the blonde and held her close. 

“I’d say we both look like a couple of drenched rats, but I’d be lying. You are still so stunning.” Large hands gently grasped her face as he smiled at her. Without warning, he leaned down and kissed her, lips meshing with hers so perfectly that it felt like heaven on earth. And though it seemed like a cliché romantic film scene, it quickly became his favorite kiss they had shared.

  --- It was a subject Vlad had not wanted to be brought up, something he hadn’t wanted to even be considered. But he knew, at some point or other, Mina would ask about a possible turning. And on this day she had, much to Vlad’s dismay.

She was rather blunt with the way she brought it up, as well. Mina hadn’t tried to work it into a conversation. She just...asked outright and caught the vampire off guard for a split second as they both sat down for dinner (blood in an enclosed mug for himself, so Mina didn’t have to actually see the blood). Licking his bottom lip, eyes flickered from the blonde down to his mug where a droplet of blood lay atop the cover as a reminder of what he was and what she could potentially be as well. The very thought shook him to the core. 

“I dare say that I had hoped you would never ask about this.” Vlad sighed softly as his eyes met Mina’s once again. “But...whatever questions you may have about it, I will answer you as best as I can.”

  --- He never thought he was deserving of Mirena’s love, but the love that she showed him now -with being a creature descended from Hell itself- he was certain he did not deserve it. Yes, he sought out this new ability to save her and their son, along with their kingdom, but it did not mean that he was any better for it. He damned himself, after all. And even though he vowed to not feed upon another for blood, he still feared that somehow, he would be forever a monster.

Reaching for her hands that rest on his chest, eyes closed at her touch and sweet voice. Despite the stress and fear he felt, Mirena always knew how to calm him. “And you are my wife, and Queen. And my savior, and reason for living.” 

He turned around in her arms to face his wife, green hues soft as they gazed down into blue depths. Vlad always found himself getting lost in her eyes; they always captivated him. “I will never seize to wonder how I got so lucky to be loved by you.”

Are you really going in there all alone? (Daniel)

"Had intended to, yeah." Daniel shrugged at her question, slipping his hands into his pockets. “I mean, it does look pretty packed right now. Might get swallowed whole by the crowd." However, he does not make any motion to move further inside. "Might wait out here for just a little bit longer, let the crowd die down before I think about going in. Sound better?"

Daniel was not feeling the greatest, but he did want to go out for coffee at the place closest to the apartment. He wouldn't stay long, not today anyway. After ordering, he noticed there was a table nearby that was unoccupied and he pulled out his laptop. The barista knew him well from his previous visits and brought it out to his table. He nodded as he took it, coughing instead of the thank you that he meant to utter. With one hand he took a drink, the other turning on his laptop. As he looked up, he thought he saw someone in line he knew. "Mina?"

THE DAY HAD BEEN LONG AND BOTH WERE EXHAUSTED to the point where slumber was not that far off. He rambled an awful lot about everything and nothing on the way back home, the slightest of nerves coursing through his veins because the last thing he wants to do is frighten her away. But, as he chats away, mostly to himself about his past—he turns his head and a grin stretches his lips into an amused grin. Mina has drifted into a deep sleep as far as he can tell. The soft billow of hair as the window is rolled down ever so slightly, which causes him to roll it up fully so as not to disturb her peace. They will not be long now—he knew these roads well, though they were still a few minutes away from her home.

† --- Strong arms wrapped around her and held her close, cradling her petite frame against his muscled physique. Long fingers stroked blonde tendrils soothingly, his lips pressed against the top of her head as he whispered calmly to her.

“Do not fret, my darling. Whatever it is, I will help you.”

Creeping up behind Vlad, Mina wrapped her arms around his shoulder's and covered his eyes with her hands, "guess who?"

Vlad was standing at his counter cutting up fresh fruit for Mina and humming to himself. With his heightened sense of smell and hearing, he knew she was creeping up behind him before she had placed her hands over his eyes, but he made it seem like he didn’t know for her sake.

He smiled and chuckled softly. “Is it my dearly beloved who has returned to me after a long days work?”
