In 2x14 when Rich and Kurt are undercover why did I think Kurt was going to kiss Rich to maintain their cover when they were about to be caught?? Like I could just feel it was going to happen. The trope was right there and it would have been great

I try to keep it professional as possible, but when Rich Dotcom hits the screen, I transform from an eye rolling Blindspot viewer to a hardcore fanboy. His presence, comedic timing, and overall wit outshines the mediocre writing and jokes. He simply elevates the show... And I think that the more we see him, the better it is for the show. 'Blindspot' is a series that often takes itself too seriously, but then doesn't deliver on the high impact emotionally tumultuous moments, that's why a little bit of effortless comedy goes a long way, at least for me. I'm not going to lie, my bias is real, I'm a HUGE Ennis Esmer fan in general and I also love to see sexuality played a bit more fluidly on network television... I think gay men are tired of seeing the same old stereotypes and archetypes represent them on big network tv (I'm looking at you Noah Galvin from 'The Real O'Neals', whoever you are on 'Modern Family', Kevin from 'Riverdale', and I could go on and on). The biggest disappointments from S2 of 'Blindspot' have been the handling of Reade's character (which I see continues to circle the drain) and forcing Patterson into yet another relationship that predictably damages her character and her character's integrity... It seems to be a constant focal point of my reviews, mainly because they are constant throwing the two in our face and these are characters that I think a good majority of viewers are (and were) very much rooting for. Rich Dotcom provides a nice distraction from all that mess... And it seems that it's not just him but all the complex backstories and subplots that have expanded a character that has only appeared on the show a handful of times and in turn created a man that is more fleshed out than some of the other main characters. Rich's on again, off again lover Boston (Josh Dean) assists in the overall elevation and I'm starting to get a soft spot for this man too. Sporadic appearances definitely make the episodes that they appear on even more special, but I'm still hoping that NBC brings them both on, or at least Rich, more and more frequently. However I could see those who either are not fans of the Rich Dotcom character or those that easily tire when the series core narrative is deviated from, because Ennis Esmer's presence is so massive that everything is put on hold... Technically they become throwaway episodes because they do nothing to advance the central plot itself... For me, Blindspot is very much a show that I could 'take it or leave it'... Because they've botched so many potential great moments and storylines (and continue to do so), I'm literally just sitting around waiting, watching, hoping Rich Dotcom will soon appear. I get the minority that gets frustrated with the lagging of the story of 'Blindspot' itself, but for me these are not 'throwaway episodes', they are 'much needed refreshers'.
