You saw that look in his eyes and you knew what it meant. He’d barely kept it hidden all evening. You had to hand it to him, he’d mostly kept it together; a look here, his arm tightening around you there, but he kept quiet as you talked to potential donors. One of the potential donors slid his eyes up and down your body, taking in your high-neck, low-back gown as you explained to him what your organization did and how his donation would help impoverished young families all over the world receive the medical care that every person deserved. You could feel David restraining himself after that, growling low in his chest and settling his hand possessively at your lower back.
When you got home, you made a beeline for your room and kicked off your heels, exhaling at your feet finally being freed before turning around to look at David. He was stock-still, filling the doorframe, his shoulders shaking visibly. You sighed.
“Let’s get some things straight first,” you started, waiting for his nod before continuing. “I worked my ass off on this fundraiser.”
“Yes, you did.” his voice was choked off, quiet.
You continued, pointing at his chest. “I look good as hell tonight.”
“Yes, you do,” he agreed, still unmoving.
“You know I’d never, not in a million years, want another man like I want you.”
This time, he just silently nodded.
“You were my arm-candy tonight,” you finished, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Y/N. I know.” His voice sounded hoarse and strained and you decided to take pity on him. He’d made a huge effort to contain his jealousy. You knew that. You appreciated that. It had caused issues before, early in your relationship, and you knew he was trying hard.
You reached behind you, sliding the zipper of your dress down. The soft fabric slid off of your shoulders, down your body, becoming a pool of silk at your bare feet. Tilting your head at David, fixed him with a smirk and his whole body seemed to tense up like he was frozen in time. You licked your lips slowly before finally speaking up. “So get over here and wreck me, already.”
