A poorly-timed Coldfront blizzard had packed around the RED and BLU bases, and malfunctioning heaters left the building something like a giant freezer. Steinkopf sat in his desk chair, bundled in several layers and sipping at a steaming cup of black coffee, breathing in the cocoa aroma.
He was, however, alerted at the sight of a forgotten jacket on his coat-rack. It was not his jacket- it was a woman's, small and thick, and belonged to a certain maid named Amalia. She seemed to have forgotten it after she left, for she had brought him coffee not long ago and left as soon as she came. She seemed unusually busy today- busier than usual- and it left him mildly concerned about her current state of affairs.
Cursing under his breath, Friedrich put his coffee mug down on his desk and stood from his chair. He hoped he could find her somewhere- he didn't want her to be without her coat with the base as cold as it was today. He took his time putting his socks and shoes on and bid his parrots farewell.
Taking it off the rack, he proceeded to wander through the halls, searching for anywhere the woman might be. He assumed she was in the laundry room now, so that was the first place he would check. With the coat slung over his arm, he stepped into the laundry room.
