Streets of Philadelphia
wow big emo!! fred’s been listening to this one a lot recently and relating to it a little too much (not in the dying-of-a real physical disease way but in the feeling that you’re vanishing both physically and emotionally and your hometown isn’t kind to you anymore) but it’s as much a comfort anthem as it is a sad song. it makes him feel less alone when he listens to it quietly at night.
i think it’s a love song to him as well (there are few songs that aren’t) and it makes him think of fp and their lost love. it makes him feel included too because even though it’s sad it’s written for people like him.
it’s always been one of his favourites and he actually watched the oscars the year this one won he was so happy :’) he cried when he saw the movie. archie grew up listening to it in the car and he sings it out loud in the car when he’s alone.
