My 3-year-old was confused that a neighbor boy didn't like her, and did mean things sometimes.

"He isn't mean to my brother. And he isn't mean to his mom and dad," she explained, confused.

"Well, his parents can stop him being mean to them. And he doesn't think you can," I say, unsure how to explain the complexity of bullying, and how to recognize an asshole as something other than a cartoon villain who indiscriminately tortures everyone around them.

"But I can," she pipes up from the back seat, "because I'm a boss kid."

YES YOU ARE, BABY. YOU ARE THE BOSS-EST KID. YOU ARE THE END BOSS.

as of ... I don't know... like, two weeks ago the little dude be like "I busy!" ohhhh myyy gersh! I definitely give my man the stink eye because I don't ever .... aw man, I probably have said that to him... but geez! not with the attitude he gives me! IF I ever said those words to my little guy it was probably just because he was asking me to do something while I was washing dishes or cooking or some other stay at home work. Man, now i'm really wondering if he learned it from me, because, uh, I totally gave my man a nasty look and grunt and probably something sarcastically like "WHERE DID HE LEARN THAT FROM???" woops. anyway so usually this occurs when the kid is being asked to take a bath, or eat, or get ready to leave. Something like this: Parent: Ok, let's go _________ Kid: No, I busy. Then we just can't help to be shocked and burst out in giggles. So, yep, that probably doesn't help.. Anyway, omg, he so cute!!!
