Hobbled, but unbroken. Boston Spartan Super - DONE! @spartan #bostonsuper #ocr #ocrbeer (at Spartan Race)
Should have doubled up on the sand bag to make up for missing it ast palmerton I had just spit when the lady taking pictures made her presence known. Could have been a funnier picture See those black shoes I'm wearing over the fire jump? Yeah, they're bright red and yellow normally! Mud was thick. #spartanrace #bostonsuper #teamheathen #mile11
Third picture in. Me saying holy shit that stings on the rope burn. Wasn't expecting that with such crystal clear water. 😉 #spartanrace #bostonsuper #teamheathen #mile11
Sunday placement. Consistently in the middle. Not mad at that but still wanna get better. However a friend put in my head the lack of penalty burpees that get done by some in competitive wave so it makes me wonder where i really sit in actual competitive placement. Not mad, just curious. May have to try an elite wave sometime on a flat course to gauge it. #spartanrace #bostonsuper #teamheathen #mile11
I always say about how good the Spartan community or OCR community is in general. This is my friend jill. I kept calling her jen for the longest time until i got it right finally in palmerton. Lol. She's one of the good ones. We met on the start line of Arrington sprint in Virginia. Just one of the random people you meet along the way..... until we kept seeing each other at other races. She recognized me at the next race when she was volunteering at savage. And we both ended up running both days in Boston this weekend. Good competitor. But another reason i mention this is that even though the beginning of today's race was very demoralizing for me i was able to plow through the rest of the obstacles minus spear throw. Missed that. But at around mile 6 i was keeping pace with two guys who i found out later just started racing Spartan this year. We motivated each other to keep going and we hit a point in the last mile running through the woods like there wasn't any thick mud on the ground. Then another guy caught up to us the last half mile and we were all just connected in one mission it felt like. We were damn near sprinting coming out of the woods to the last obstacle. It really gave me chills. Maybe it was the testosterone. Lol But it was a moment that makes it so worth it. Moment's that connect us as humans regardless of all the different bullshit in the world. That moment made up for how this race started. And once again a HUUUUUGE thank you to my wife for being my support when I'm out there doing this. Without her guidance I'd probably end up with mad cow disease or some flesh eating disease from not having my rope burn checked out. #spartanrace #bostonsuper #teamheathen #mile11
Pre race selfie. Got me some new shorts Day 2. #bostonsuper #teamheathen
Great, now that she finished the #bostonsuper its only my beast shirts that are safe from her. 😁🤣 #spartanrace #teamheathen #spartanwife
