Eren is one of the few Alphas who go into rut without the presence of an Omega in heat nearby, and after suppressing it for nearly two years, the drugs are no longer working. As a last resort he heads to an Omega refuge, hoping to find a suitable, but temporary, mate. When he finds one lost in a fatal 'red heat', he'll do whatever it takes to ease his suffering....
Extremely intense, melting, bitterly violent, this fan fic has an incredibly, amazing visual impact. I could barely breath while I was reading; in this period I really have a thing for alfa/beta/omega fan fics, as you can see, and Red Heat is a sad, intense, wreaked, caotic-feels story about bonding and first sight feelings, a little romantic, a little rude, so sweet!
And I loved how heart wrenching Levi’s approach to life is, how sensitive he is, fragil and yet so stubborn, to the point of being close to a coward. It makes him appear so much human to the reader eyes, and that’s awesome, emotional. And Eren... so intense, so magnetic! I’m looking forward to his reaction, the way he’ll handle this thing with Levi, cause Eren is hiding something...
Twisting their “usual” role, with here Eren as the alpha and Levi as the omega didn’t break their characters, didn’t really change them, but showed other sides of themselves as they could have possibily been out of the constest they are born into -thanks Isayama-sensei!-, as they are in the eyes of some really good hell of a fan-writer -thank you so much, sciencefictioness!
