Eye Candy // Masha Reva x SNDCT

So long story short, Masha Reva’s latest collab with SYNDCT grabbed me by the face and said LOOK AT ME. Who was I to say no? It’s the kind of photo set that demands attention.
Called Botanical Layers, this collaboration is a match made in heaven. Reva’s keen eye for framing and capture combined with SYNDCT’s vision and design birthed a bold set of fresh-to-death prints. Not only is it aesthetically satisfying, this metaphorical collection has a message.
Among the botanical visuals there are screen shots of Photoshop loading bars and other technological references ironically nestled in with the greenery. According to the description of the collection, the juxtaposition symbolizes the “rapid pace of contemporary life, gadgets and social networks with a yearning for our natural environment.”
Against the white background, it seems as though the model’s arms come to their natural botanical conclusion, combining human anatomy with botany.
