Santos didn’t say addicts deserve to go to jail, she is lashing out and saying Langdon should have gone to jail for stealing drugs from his patients, which he might have done if he weren’t a white man who had another white man covering for him (I just think back to even Langdon clocking that privilege with the white family who’s kid ate the gummies). Like, yes Langdon deserves grace and perhaps a different shift where this baggage doesn’t pull him down, but the fact he is insisting to everyone that his addiction didn’t effect his work (despite stealing from patients) perhaps is the clue to that he’s not 100% at a place in recovery where he’s ready to register how badly he acted.
