The White Throated Kingfisher are threatened by habitant destruction which reduces the suitable nest site. These are also affected by dams, irrigation project, water pollution and reclamation which change the flow of water and it’s quality. Due to human disturbance sometime parent Kingfisher unable to reenter into the nest. since the nestling is naked, there is lot of possibilities for the nestling to die. So human presence near Kingfisher breeding become a huge threat to it.
The white throat kingfisher is denoted as “Least concern” by the IUCN RED LIST. These species occupies large area in global arena. However, why this bird is so different from others of its kind remains a mystery.
