#bots?

Uh, what is going on? We have Tuesday, and I had like 5 people this week telling me they don't know how Tumblr works. Are these a new kind of bots?

I'm sorry, but I'm not teaching Tumblr to you. Google exists. -_-

Has anyone been followed lately by blogs that don't seem to be obvious bots (blank blogs, no profiles, weird usernames, etc.) but also don't feel human?

Like maybe they have a bio but their posts feel like something no human would write? Idk how to explain it. My gut tells me to block them but it's more that something feels off than that the blog has done something wrong.

I literally would have forgotten about Fanfiction.net if not for the fact that I get emails of people PMing me about my old as hell Dragon Ball fanfic from 2017 that never got past chapter one and has several glaring plot errors versus canon.

Two feel very botted and they want to make art of it?? They find it riveting and immersive and the world expansive when it barely went anywhere in the first steps?

The third, the latest is asking for the new chapter of my "latest" fic that hasn't been updated since 2017. And asking me to move to AO3? I mean, I am on AO3, true, but I've got completely different ships and focuses now.

I'm not indulging these.

Either people started suddenly losing interest in my blog, or I had bot followers that got removed

so later the other day i was like writing in my drafts nothing too serious

and i had like 450 smth follower which is amazing, gorgeous, we love that and ilysm to everyone who’s here enjoying my silly little posts

but then i wake up the next morning, and i see this:

WHICH IS LIKE ???? !!!! WHATTT????

so like… i got scared? lol. and I… ended up counting my followers by hand… and it’s like 480 smth. definetely NOT 700. and i’m like, wtfff???

my question is… does anyone know anything regarding bots in followers?? or could it be tumblr playin spooky scary skeletons on me?

im just confused and half scared lolol
