What is exclusively pumping?
Let me start by saying that I’m really unsure how Tumblr works. I’ve heard of it before but never ventured onto the site. Once I downloaded the app, I have grown to like. So what am I doing here?
After searching through Tumblr, I found one thing that is dear to me missing from this site: exclsuive pumping. If your not a mom, and even if you are, you may have never heard of exclsuive pumping before now. Put into simple terms, instead of direct breastfeeding, you use a pump for all the breast milk and the baby is fed through a bottle. You may also here this refered to as bottle nursing.
Bella is now 16 months old which means I’ve been pumping for 16 months straight. Bella was born at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia. When she was born, I tried and tried to get her to latch with no luck even with help from the LC. When I got home and got my own pump, I just started pumping not realizing there was a name to what I was doing. I finally ventured out to groups on FB and found there were others like me; they were all pumping!
My goal for this blog is to help mom’s everywhere realize that just because you may not be able to direct breastfeed, you can still give you baby the best. I’ve helped several people start pumping and even help them pump for several months. I will be posting tips, how tos, pictures, and answer questions for people who want to learn about pumping.
I want to show mothers everywhere that you have options and a breast pump can become your best friend!
