A not very in-depth analysis of Richie's hairstyles throughout all the Bottom Lives - Part 1
This post is just me talking about Richie's hair because by god does it fascinate me. I genuinely just think it's so beautiful so I feel the need to talk about it to you all! Fantastic times.
Also, I obviously don't know all the facts here, so if anyone wants to add anything (for example what Rik may have been filming at the time alongside the lives) it's all welcome!
(Also also, sorry if some pictures are low quality I do apologise, I've had to go on google and youtube reuploads for these pictures lol)
Bottom Live (1993)
This was filmed approximately a year after season 2 of Bottom aired, but I think there are distinct differences in the hairstyles. In series 2, he retains his long, dirty blond hair, but in the live it appears to be shorter and closer to a lighter, almost gold colour. Another interesting note is that in some lighting it looks to be bordering on ginger. This is something I'll touch on later.
He also seems to have his hair parted over his forehead in a few scenes, which differs with his usual slicked back style.
All in all, it doesn't seem like a major change to me, but definitely noticeable!
Bottom Live 2: The Big Number Two Tour (1995)
This aired the same year as series 3 of Bottom, and I feel it's evident. His hair is the very same long, light blond and greasy mess that we've come to know and love. It represents his character very well as I feel like, apart from the first live, this is where Richie acts the most like himself in the series: a perverted, somewhat elegant fool who presents himself as rather snooty and upper class (knowing damn well he's working class).
I could see Richie and Eddie trying to run a sweeney todd-esque pie scheme as the plot of one of the live shows or something. Idk, it's definitely twisted enough for them
one of the funniest parts of bottom live to me is how much the audience loves Eddie, and how much Richie hates them for it
