Please do a second part for Techie giving birth
(continued from this! and also, I went with Matt as Techie’s boyfriend/baby daddy—I hope that’s okay!)
Matt hates that he can’t say no to his supervisor. She asked him to do some overtime to fix a transmitter panel that was giving some of the other guys some trouble to fix and he agreed, knowing that he’d be late for his dinner with Techie.
He sneaks his little datapad out of his pocket and makes sure that no one sees him on it as he quickly texts Techie to tell him sorry, he’s going to be a little late. But Techie doesn’t even read it, never mind reply, which is very, very odd. Techie usually replies to Matt’s messages in a flash, complete with little smiley faces and hearts. But nothing. Could Techie have fallen asleep? Unlikely. He may be nine months pregnant but he’d never fall asleep as his desk! He’d turn himself in for disciplinary action if he did, not that Hux would think much of his tired little brother having a quick nap!
Matt rushes the job and half-finishes it before clocking out and dashing to his & Techie’s chambers, finding it empty and like they both left it this morning. Strange. Techie should be done with his shift by now and been relieved by another security tech. Matt hurries to Techie’s office, his ‘nook’ as he calls it, and is alarmed when he hears pained groans from inside.
He finds Techie on the floor, his pants soaked and his hair sticking to his sweating forehead. He calls out for Matt and looks so relieved to see him but the pain is just so intense that he cries out before he can say anything else. Matt pages for a droid right away, needing assistance because Techie is in so much distress that it might be dangerous to move him. The poor thing has gotten himself into such a state because he thought he’d have to give birth alone and he & the baby might die—
Matt stops him and kisses him, holding Techie in his lap. That would never have happened, Matt tells him as the medical droids come in along with Techie’s big brother. Hux had an alert set up to tell him if a medic droid was ever called to attend Techie. He’s shocked when he sees that Techie is in labour and has been stressing out all by himself!
They have to make a makeshift bed on the floor for Techie, he’s too far along to be moved. He cries, telling Mattie that he’s sorry, that he didn’t want to have his baby in an office but in their chambers where they’d planned a birthing pool and all sorts. But Matt promises that as long as he and the baby are okay, it doesn’t matter where this happens. ❤️
