people really don't want to dig into shane's issues with his own masculinity bc they don't want to deal with how ugly that will make shane's psyche especially re: women
#idk I'm just yapping but I think a lot of Shane's internalized homophobia is heavily based on and centered on his preference to exclusively#bottoming#not saying he doesn't have any other things going through his head re Problems With Being Gay or that he#he wouldn't be dealing with internalized homophobia if he was a top or vers but I think as is that's what it is#and I think that leads to a lot of resentment towards women (in his incorrect assessment he's the girl obviously and it's upsetting for him#for many reasons)#and one of those reasons is the way hockey players in general speak about and think about women#imo imo imo#heated rivalry#hr hc
