Zelda: You've done it, Link. You've beaten Calamity Ganon and now--
Link: Hey that's cool and all but wanna see me duplicate shit *starts nocking shock arrows in lynel bows and then tossing them over his shoulder*
Zelda: ...what
Link, shooting electric chuchu jelly over and over to shock himself, causing him to drop his desynced bow letting him duplicate the bow of light: I can do it with non-weapons too but it requires time travel
I was just going through doing quests and stuff in botw and I come across this
Are you okay there, how are you walking sideways, what??? 😂 😂
A lot of you wanted to know how I got my super cool horse, so here’s a quick run down
I did not make this discovery of the glitch. I followed Kleric on twitter and the credit seems to go to @Bot_W
So basically I followed the steps said above.
Left my horse by some water
Teleported far away (must be far enough away where the horse does not load on the map, to be safe I usually do four of the square sections, but you can just eyeball it)
Paraglide all the way to horse, making sure to not touch the ground
Glide above water, and use all remaining stamina to shoot an ice arrow at horse
With stamina gone, you should drown, while your horse is still frozen
Then, if you did it right, you should be teleported all the way back to the area you first took of with the paraglide, AKA very far away
Do NOT TELEPORT but run/shield surf/master cycle all the way back to your horse’s location
On arrival, you should have a nice ice friend!
This is the path I personally took, leaving my horse, named Talus, on East Akkala Beach. I submerged him a bit so he could have a nice bath. Then I teleported to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. I took off on the purple path and shot and drowned at the red dot. Then I went back along the green path with the master cycle.
I used a bomb impact launch (another glitch for another day) on the purple path, but it’s not necessary if you fully upgraded stamina/have stamina food
This glitch is not permanent, if your horse is ever reloaded, whether by
Boarding/swapping horse at stable
Teleporting to a new location
Horse dies/brough back to life
Link dies
Reloading a save file
Quitting the game
Or any other actions that cause the game to have to load your horse in again
Then your horse will return back to normal
Welp, go enjoy your ice friends everyone!
That's... gotta hurt
Hey only one quarter heart damage tho
I need you to teach me the power known as pulling off a bullet-time bounce because I have been trying for DAYS to get the right angle and it isn’t working... I beg of thee
Ahhh yes, the dreaded bullet-time bounce (BTB). After all, the best way to travel across Hyrule is through bouncing on a monster’s skull! Welp, I learned a lot of the glitches from the youtuber Kleric. So here’s one of his videos on the BTB.
I think he does a better job at explaining the glitches then I ever will, but if you’re short on time, then here’s a quick run down on what I do.
I’m assuming you know the gist of it, you use an ice arrow on any enemy (unless its a red enemy, in which case the ice arrow isn’t necessary) They must be frozen for the entire process. AND, they can’t already be rag-dolled (EX, they can’t be limp/lying on the floor) they should be in a standing/active position
Then, from an elevated position, preform a shield surf jump (move forward, press x, then equip shield and stuff)
While in the air, equip the bow to enter “bullet time,” or simply the effect that happens when time slows down to pull out your bow
When landing on an iced enemy, while in bullet time, you go zoom! (preform a shield trick, by pressing y, to exit bullet time and let out your glider)
OK, as for tips to get it to work
Moblins are the easiest, their bulky frame and large area to land on is great cause you don’t need to aim as much.
To add to that, I find Lizolfos the hardest, because there’s too many parts of their body that you can just phase right through. You can only BTB on a specific part of their back, but it’s not impossible. (It’s also hard with the Yiga archers)
I find that a cryonis block is the best height, but it doesn’t hurt to be even higher
If when you hit the enemy with your shield surf, you also hit them with a head-shot with an arrow, I find that the BTB works better/has more chance of success. But again, it’s not necessary all of the time
Remember that the momentum of your shield jump get’s cancelled as soon as you start bullet-time. As in, the arch that you’re going through will stop and you will drop straight down normally.
So basically, only enter bullet time when you’re directly over your target. (It’s explained in better detail with the video I linked)
Also, the angle that you travel is dependant on the angle that you land, HEAVILY. If you have trouble with that, again, watch that video because I don’t have the time to draw graphs.
Welp, good luck traversing Hyrule!
I finally learned how to bow spin in breath of the wild. My right hand is frankly a bit sore.
I was trying to cancel my skew after a Skew Bounce and it kept failing to do so for some reason. One of the times I tried, Link clipped into the ground temporarily.
Into. The. Ground.
God I love Breath of the Wild.
