This took some proper brain juice to realise what I wanted to draw. I even read through 200 pagest of Masterworks to get inspiration. All it took to ask K. for her to say “Draw Link and Zelda looking for Ganon in Botw 2″. Boom, here it is.
This was such a blood bath. I started at 6 pm intending to finish at 10 pm. I finished at 2 am, because my too-much-gene is unforgivable.
I think I was not so happy with the colours irl, so I pumped them up in photoshop, but that’s art too.
Studies like this are so important when I need to understand the character design. I also adore the new outfits. Zelda’s short hair and Link’s Hylian armor over his Champion tunic.
When I was reading Masterworks, I was stunned by the amount of detail that went into BotW and how much has been scrapped out. No wonder, there will be a sequel. I am pumped.
