The Linktober Legacy prompt for this month was "coral" you guys, I simply could not miss this opportunity!

I was considering doing more art of the Coral Reef Crew but with needing to give myself a break from drawing so much and my upcoming plans for pieces, doing 4 characters felt like more work than I can take on. Honestly I'm not sure why it hadn't occurred to me until a little bit ago that the bushes around Zora's Domain look like coral, you'd think I would've remembered that and made the connection sooner that I have a character now who lived in the ocean and spent her entire childhood surrounded by it! She loves her life in the domain of course but whenever she starts to feel especially homesick, it's probably really advantageous that she has the job she does because it means she gets to be around all sorts of plant life that makes her feel a little more at home :D

Anyways, this is a bit of a different one for me, you guys haven't really seen me do any lineless pieces before! I thought it would be a bit easier than doing a lined piece, especially because I did want this one to be in full color, and it kind of was but also kind of wasn't. The plant doesn't look exactly like ones in the game but I'm still working on getting better at backgrounds, and doing pink-green color transitions is difficult (I've designed a character with that exact gradient, I should know lol) so I figured I'd cut myself some slack on that. Also, drawing Vari's pendant and net from the side is so much harder than it needs to be, it's such a weird angle 🥲 Overall though, I'm actually really pleased with this one, I feel I could go on and on about my thoughts on it!

My art for Linktober Legacy January: Pathways! I painted Milk Road from Zelda: Majora's Mask. I really wanna get better at landscapes and break into abstract lighting. This was a fun challenge bc I only had a tiny video game screenshot for reference!
