My (short!) open love letter to Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!
Now that the second season is nearing its end I’m gonna say a few words of gratitude.
First off, I fucking love this series.
I fucking love this series.
This show rekindled a feeling in me that I hadn’t felt in a long while. I do like anime but lately there’s been nothing I’ve really got into or had the motivation to keep watching - even though I have a premium membership with Crunchyroll so I have no shortage of anime - yet I was always genuinely excited for new Boubei episodes. Like, I really couldn’t wait until the next one was released. I hated waiting, and the urge for more was what made me come back to this site.
The first season of Boubei came some time after I’d started College, which was one of the best years of my life. I remember watching the new episodes every Wednesday morning before going to College and it never failed to brighten my day. Those memories are so warm and soaked in sunlight - and Boubei was a large part of that.
And now the second season came during a dark period of my life. Whenever I’d had a shitty week or thought everything looked bleak I’d remind myself that on Thursday I’d get to see my boys again. They never failed to make me laugh. Seriously, every episode made me laugh and just made me forget any pain or negative thoughts.
I’m so, so glad that the series stuck to its roots as a comedy and a parody of the Magical Girl genre. I’m also glad it stuck to it’s plan of including no girls. Not a single female is seen and I love it for that - it didn’t slip or crack under pressure. I loved all the shippy lovey-dovey moments and the melodramatic moments and the complete WTF moments. I loved how the show never took itself seriously. I love how fun and playful the voice actors were. I loved the fun characters and the relationships and just... EVERYTHING!
This series didn’t make me think hard, didn’t make me cry and didn’t make me questions my morals - it just made me happy.
I know this is rather short and a bit poorly written, but I’m fucking tired and also there’s no proper way to express just how much I love this show. I owe so much to these magical boys and I will be truly sad when their stupid, weird, wonderful adventures end. It will always hold a special place in my heart for years to come.
Love is over~

Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boubei-bu Love! Episode 12
Ladies and Gentlemen, sorry for the last post but, the fandom was right about Gora being a previous battle lover and that is why he has his chopping obsession. Out of everything this show has thrown at us the one thing I didn't expect was the reality tv thing. I wanted to hug Kinshiro as his evil makeup vanished and he was in shock. Then the fish, Zundar, and Wombat had a little insult fest. Then Gora was turned into a monster and started fighting the battle lovers. Atsushi saved Kinshiro. Arima question the press club with his kind spirit and Gero sucker punched him afterwards. Yumoto evovled in much better battle love scarlet and saved Gora. Then Zundar and this fish turned this show into a mech anime and everyone became much better battle lovers and I totally forgot what the student council turned into but it was a much better form and everyone had white clothes and wings so the hedgehog and fish were brought down. And after the festival everyone went to the bath. Kinshiro and Atsushi are friends again and I want to squeeze them in happiness it was so cute. Kinshiro looked like a little puppy. Also the teacher was later revived according to the after credits
Fish to zundar: we need someone who holds a strong grudge Me: hoe don't do it Zundar: *tells kinshiro to unlock full power* Me: oh my god
