The match taking place in the ring was particularly bloody. Caius watched with a stern expression, arms crossed over his chest, taking it all in. He wasn’t looking forward to the pain-in-the-ass that was bleaching the Hell out of the mats. After all, stains looked cheap. And the Circle was no shoddy establishment. He hoped that an old friend recognized that.
Cai glimpsed her when she entered the room: Boudicca. He would have known her anywhere. And amid the underground’s violence, she seemed to fit right in.
“What’s a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?” he joked, just barely raising his voice so that she could hear him. He dipped his chin respectfully. “It’s been some time.”
