Heart of Darkness creatures made in Spore
So I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but in 2009 a guy called Mech-Kage made several of the Heart of Darkness creatures (mostly the aquatic ones from the Magic Lake) in the alien life sim Spore. They were uploaded to the creature database.
It’s interesting to see these creatures depicted in Spore so I figured I’d share.
The underwater sucker plant
“Mundaneomone“ (mouth anemone)
Eine Pflanze, die gerne unwürdige auffrisst. / A plant that likes to eat the unworthy.
The underwater tentacle plant
“Todesalge“ (death algae)
Eine Alge, die den Opfern die Haut abreist und dann frisst. / An algae that tears off the victim’s skin and then eats it. (oof)
Plant Serpent
“Fleischfressende Pflanze” (carnivorous plant)
Eine Pflanze, die im Spiel Heart of Darkness eine wichtige Rolle spielt. / A plant that plays an important role in the game Heart of Darkness
The slime doors (I think)
“Ekel Stampfer” (disgusting stamper) lmao
Eine lebendige Tüt die auf und zu geht. / A living bag that opens and closes
I think this is one of the background plants
“Quallenpflanze” (jellyfishplant)
Eine Pflanze, die eine Qualle ist. / A plant that is a jellyfish (lmao)
Boulder Worm
“Augenwurm” (eyeworm)
in schrecklicher Wurm der in Löchern lauert. / A terrible worm that lurks in holes
So yeah. I thought this was super cool.

My favourite is the boulder worm because it looks a lot like them.
