Boulder’s Bike To Work Activities
June is here which means Boulder’s annual Walk and Bike month has began. Boulder’s unique and diverse biking culture celebrates every year with over 60 family friendly events throughout the community in June through the start of July, making it the largest event of it’s kind.
Bike to Work Day is the main event for cyclists celebrated on Wednesday June 22, with 50 breakfast stations around Boulder serving up free food and drinks for those walking or cycling to work.
On June 22nd Green Guru’s will be offering light snacks and a photo booth at our headquarters, off Goose Creek Path and 47th Street in Boulder from 6:30-9 am.
Don’t forget to check us out on your ride home Wednesday night, we will be co-sponsoring a happy hour at Upslope with Kelty and Eco-Vessel for all afternoon bikers. First 50 to arrive will receive a free beer, and every half hour we will have a raffle offering some great gear, Come check us out!
Sponsored by the City of Boulder and local corporate sponsors, events throughout the month include a 5th anniversary party for Valmont Park, sponsored by R.E.I.on June 11 starting at 5 pm, followed by a screening of E.T. The U.S 36 Bikeway grand opening, at Avista Hospital in Louisville on June 18th. A ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 kicks off the event, followed with group ride from the hospital to Table Mesa. For cyclists attending vendors will be hosting tables with food and giveaways. The month long celebration ends July 8th with a Clips Beer and Film Tour, hosted by New Belgium Brewing starting at 7:30 at Valmont Park’s Disc Golf Course. Other events include mountain bike rides, scavenger hunts, hikes, trips to local breweries and more. Events are available for all age groups and skill levels.
