Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Askaban- JK Rowling
Henry had an early afternoon meeting to attend at which time he would propose the new ideal that it was the king’s power- not the pope’s- to speak the word of God, and therefore advocate in His name what was right and wrong. This would not only give the king the power to declare his marriage to Catherine null and void but, give him a substantial elevated power in general. As the meeting came to a close he stood before walking down the isle to exit the double doors. There was some scattered, rather unenthusiastic applause. His people had just been proposed practically a new was of life, and were not in any position to deny the kind of his means to his divorce.
Finally back at the castle, Henry sent for Anne immediately, wanting no one else in his presence after the long ours of politics. He had so much to tell her, so much joy and excitement to share- and hoped that this would be the thing that would give them what they so desperately wanted. Reaching his room, he shrugged off his jacket and gloves as he eagerly awaited Anne’s arrival. While waiting, he was sure to dismiss the servants that lingered, in hope that they could have one of their few moments alone.
