Quantity vs Quality

Mark 12 : 43-44 “Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

The widows offering reflects how much the Lord delights in the Quality of our giving unto him.

Most of the time we focus a lot on the amount of time we have sat in prayer , the amount of tithes we have given, the amount of time spent to read the full Bible. But in all of this, the Lord delights in a more quality time spent in each of these things.

The Lord delights much more on the sincerity and genuineness of our prayer. In another passage Jesus wants us to spend private intimate time with him in a closed room and have a good quiet time of prayer. It is important that we try to attain that but at the same time every single moment while we walk, do our daily chores and tasks if our mind is constantly dedicated to communicating with the Lord, praising him and submitting our requests unto him I believe this is very pleasing unto the Lord than sitting for many hours with little focus.

One of my friends rightly said that it is very much similar to spending quality time with our beloved spouse and kids where we express to them our love, deepest emotions, and care with no bounds or restrictions. We can do it anywhere anytime. And that’s the same bonding Jesus stressed in this passage.

Let us continue to speak to Jesus anytime and at every moment of our life. He is there for us to speak to us, comfort us and guide us every single second and we don’t need to wait at all.
