The Steve & Yan Connection - Instagram buddies

Steve’s Notes - Yan is one cool chick. Yes, she’s got a lot going on. She sells real estate, she’s a personal trainer, she’s on the competitive bikini circuit (man, if I could even just drive the bus I’d be happy) and much more. Despite all of this, she quickly responded to my request for an O.P.U.S. interview and had it turned around in a few hours. 

Of course, as always, I had a question about Kate Upton. I thought she might know her since she’s into the whole modeling/bikini scene. She ignored that question, though. At first I was worried she thought I was being rude (Trust me, I would never be rude to someone nice enough to agree to do an interview with me). Then I got to thinking...wait a minute. If I knew Kate Upton and a stranger asked me about her, I would be like, “Kate who? I don’t know Kate Upton.”

Now, this is very different than if I was dating Kate around people I knew. Say I was talking to my buddies, there very well could be a sentence like, “So I was talking to Kate Upton on the phone, and I’m all like Kate Upton, what are you having for dinner tonight Kate Upton?” Then I would remind my buddies Kate Upton is THAT Kate Upton...the Sports Illustrated Super Model Kate Upton.

But...

If I didn’t know someone... like Yan, who doesn’t really know me, I would be quiet. I’m sure Yan will surprise me with a call from Kate very soon.

Kate Upton talk aside, Yan is simply awesome. She had some fun with the questions and was unbelievably nice in our correspondence. I’m pleased as can be to introduce you to my new buddy...Yanira “Yan” Zabala!

Where do you live? - Las Vegas

What do you do for a living? - Real estate / personal training

What's something interesting about you that you would like to share with OPUS readers? - I am a bikini competitor. I moved to Las Vegas to pursue my Carrier in the Fitness Industry.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met? - Several, Snoop Dog, Enrique Iglesias, Ving Rhames and others.  

If there was a movie about your life, what actress would play you? - Scarlett Johnson

What is the best candy bar? - 100 Grand

What are the "must do" things you would take a visitor to if they came to visit you in Las Vegas? - Red Rock Canyon, Mountain Charleston

Describe your workout routine. - Fasting Cardio in the morning. 2 hours of training and night. Another hour of cardio included. This is my routine while I'm getting ready for a show. My next show will be in September. Mr. Olympia Bikini Model Search.

If you could drive any type of car, what would it be? - I have a BMW and love it!

When you grab some suntan lotion, what SPF are you looking for? - Protection and good Glow

What is your greatest sports accomplishment? - Winning first place for several years in a row in Track when I was in High School.

Do you like going to flea markets? - Yes

If you were starting a coffee shop, what celebrity would you like to partner with? - Ricky Martin

How come you think they don't have that Mr. Bubble guy doing commercials anymore? - No clue :)

Are you a pet person? If so, please fill us in on what pets you have. - No

If Kool-Aid had a contest to invent a new flavor, what flavor would you submit for your entry into the contest? - Coconut
