「Hi, Consumption.」
Usalyman

When we're about to buy something,
a small voice appears--
"Ethical,"
"conscious,"
"sustainable."
It sounds like it comes from within us--
but does it?
What are we really buying?
Consumption seems to sit quietly
at the center of our daily lives.
But is it good for us--
or something we've simply come to accept?
Who decides?
What shapes that decision?
From May 6 to 13, 2026,
we will present the exhibition “Hi, Consumption.”
at B by the BROOKLYN BREWERY in Nihonbashi, Tokyo.
Surrounded by an endless flow of things to be consumed,
what do we choose—
and what do we not?
New works from illustrator Ayaco Nakamura’s
Usalyman series will be on view.
During the exhibition,
we will also host events that
pause and rethink consumption
through thinking and making.
